They both just finalized new contracts which pay their captains substantially more than a FO at WJ. I don’t think it will move anyone with an ATPL and time.

I'm interested in the pay scale too.

I am going to assume the grain company is P&H?

Re: Sunwest job in Winnipeg

I too am curious as to pay, schedule (if any  ), clientele. Zero information on their website.

This seems to be similar to what Fast does. Jet captain going to Palm Springs one day, King Air to Berens River the next.

Re: Porter Airlines: Direct Entry Captain - Embraer E2

This is a basic supply and demand problem. If you need EXPERIENCED crew then you must make it worth their while. $100-130 is not going to get the lifers in the north talking. $200k+ and a decent schedule, well then you are going to see applications with 5000+TT ATPLs applying. It is really that simp...

Re: Central Mountain Air weekly job ad...

Now take your washed up 4 bars and retire so someone more deserving and appreciative can take over. I won’t be commenting further on this as I’ve said what I needed to say - truthfully - about CMA - as have others. Oh - and as far as the “high turnover” - 4 in the last 6 months isn’t high turn over...

Re: Central Mountain Air weekly job ad...

As a current CMA 1900 FO in Calgary, i will offer some insight in to things and try and clear up some confusion from a few of the above posts. I will start by saying that every company - big and small - have there own set of unique challenges in this environment. CMA is no different. Yes our wages ...

Re: Central Mountain Air weekly job ad...

We do write the snags in the book. But you are still going to get a phone call from management asking why you didn't "fly it to XYZ airport". Plus they will never send maintenance to fix it. They will just get a ferry permit. 1 - Management shouldn't be calling asking why you aren't flying an aircr...

Re: Central Mountain Air weekly job ad...

In typical CMA zero common sense management they put these Dash's on a 6 day pairing AWAY FROM ANY MAINTENCE BASE. It NEVER sees a maintence person for 6 days straight. And then they pressure the pilots to fly them when they break down. You could just write the defect in the log book as required by...

Re: SIMAir

Just wondering how much they pay for captain? Lots of twin turbine 705 captains in YWG but they're all making well over 6 figures, and not going to gamble on a start up unless there's a dump truck of cash offered. "Pay is commensurate of experience" isn't going to work. Agreed, a lot of ...

Re: WestJet Encore Pilot Open House Calgary September 4th

I laugh at how some of you are shocked at the notion of a 250hr FO being a possibility at Encore. The writing has been on the wall the past few years. With the way the industry and pilot supply is going, it’s guaranteed to happen at some point (if it hasn’t all ready). Jazz has been doing it succes...

Re: Westwind

What's going on at Westwind? Are the pilots still sitting around collecting a cheque? I noticed they posted a job ad for a "Flight Operations SMS Investigator" today. They've got to be getting deep into the red. Loosing the mine charters would no doubt be a big blow to their bottom line. Not trying ...

Not surprising really. Flightaware shows North Caribou and Regional 1 picking up the slack.

Re: Westwind

Who is picking up the slack for Westwind during this busy part of the year? I see nothing but a couple transwest 1900's flying around. Surely they can't fill the void? I'm in no way stirring the pot, but those miners and scheduled passengers can't be happy. Secondly, what sort of "deficiencies" coul...
