Aviation World will usually match any advertised price by other Canadian retailers on stuff like headsets and GPS's. What they will not do, however, is sell product for below cost, so the guys there will only bargain to a point. Bring in the ad for the item in question and ask to speak to Andy, Stev...

5X5 is right except for one small detail. To upgrade to a class II rating, you have to recommend a further 7 flight tests and have at least 500 hours of instructing under your belt. That being said, the number of flight tests an instructor has recommended is not the only indicator of their experienc...

Flymez, would you care to elaborate on that? I don't think TorotoGuy will be able to glean very much information from your vague accusations. When did you leave BFC? Yes, we have had some management issues in the past, but there are a lot of improvements being made. Maybe you should come back and ch...

Yeah, that may have happened at one point. It was a one instructor thing, not a club policy or anything. Hasn't happened for a long time.

If you read this on the BFC Underground, be advised that not very many people take that guy seriously anymore. He has been predicting the downfall of BFC in "six months" for several years now. In the begining, he did raise some valid concerns, ut the newsletter has degenerated into personal attacks....

Thanks right seat for explaining the pay thing. As was demonstrated by the replies, yes, on occasion, a CIC officer may get a little big for his/her britches, but this is not the general feeling amongst the CIC. It's is also an attitude they try and nip in the bud on BOQ. One poster said he though m...

To clarify my previous post, I am well aware that reg force members of the CF have more than firing rifles to contriubute to the cadet movement, and I appreciate any time reg force members of give to the movement. The majority of our Area and Regional staff is Reg force. I was trying to make the poi...

w squared, it's pretty clear from your comments that you haven't been involved with the program for a some time. The CIL became the Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) in the mid-nineties. As for us CIC officers having delusions of grandeur, I will admit it happens, but on an isolated basis. Part of the pr...

For Canadian aviation history, it's hard to beat Larry Milberry's History of Air Transport in Canada . It's two huge volumes with tons of pics. It can be a little pricy, but try your local library, I know the Metro Ref in yyz has a copy. Also, if you can find a used copy, check out Max Ward's book. ...
