Re: FLYGTA Rumors
I have to agree 100% with Trey Kule on this one. I am graduate of Flight Safety's Navajo pilot course and I am an AME with years working on the "Ho". I have seen the effects in pictures, first hand, and actually talked with the lead Navajo production engineer from Piper about this very subject. If y...

Re: F*** You. Pay me.
I agree 100 per cent with the original poster. All you other posters are entitled to your opinion. However, some of those opinions are why aviation is in the state it is in. Owners have pitted us against each other and we attack like a bunch of rabid dogs fighting over a scrap of gristle. Even on th...

Re: TSC- A New Age of Aviation
As others of have stated. From your opening remarks I got the impression you were not a 9 year veteran of the industry. You sounded like an entitled newbie who thought all us old fogies didn't have a clue anymore. When I started in this industry a wise old crusty bush pilot told me..."you have two e...

Thank you for all the pics and stories folks. This is why I read this forum in the first place. All the bickering on the other threads is pretty toxic.

Re: ink argument
My understanding is that in Canada black ink is preferred but not dictated by CARS. The FAA on the other hand is completely different. The FARs actually states BLACK ink and a specific date sequence (been a while I don't remember the sequence). If you do not do it as per the FARs you get your paperw...

Re: Will the Canadian "pilot shortage" reach U.S. levels?
It would be nice if it did. Pilot wages in this country have been crap for way too long. With the cost of rent, utilities, vehicle insurance, etc. climbing in the major centers where pilots have to live who can afford to start out at $36k per year before taxes? I am not holding my breath. I will jus...

Re: Still confused with the new instruments renewal requirements
I thought I might have missed something in all my research getting ready for my IPC. A lot has changed since I last did my INRAT and subsequent rides. So far I have nothing bad too say about pilotraining.ca and their online ground schools. For an old dog they are proving to be a great refresher. I m...

Re: Still confused with the new instruments renewal requirements
My understanding is the IPC may be done in an approved simulator, or the Redbird until January 1, 2018. It doesn't have to be in an actual airplane. Please if I am wrong let me know as I am prepping now to get my IFR current/valid and have been planning on the Redbird scenario. If I have to do it in...

Re: Sharpers Edge/Canadian Private Pilot Answer Guide
Have to agree with trey kule 100%. I have been flying for 35+ years and still re-read the FTGU, Flight Training Manual and Air Command Weather Manual(up dated versions) every couple of years. I have read lots of other books but still always recommend those 3 as must know and more importantly underst...

copied from another thread. The ugly truth..... I have been in aviation for over 30 years and contracting for the last 20 years on and off. I can no longer afford to do it. No travel expenses, shit wages, shit/no per diems, no accommodations. When I started in this game contractors got paid well bec...

You stated your opinion. I responded with mine in regards to an attitude that wishes harm to those who don't recognise the dangerfrosti wrote:Go hang onto a fence.Addicted4life wrote:Frosti, it is attitudes like yours that have no business in our gene pool.

Re: A sad day in Canadian Aviation...
If we let this come to pass it will be a truly sad day in the history of Canadian aviation. In my opinion second only to the cancellation of the Avro Arrow. What the hell do the Conservatives have against aviation. I grew up a dirt poor farmer's kid and if it hadn't been for the Air Cadets in genera...
