Re: Recall of the NC

You realize that 30% of shit is still shit right? And nobody in year 1 or 2 is making 90-100k... Have you even looked at the FO pay scales? The fact that you're delusional enough to believe this: "Most Boomers retired early in the pandemic to try and save junior pilots from furlough." ...also compl...

Re: Recall of the NC

It's not just year 1. They spend a year at year 1 a year at year 2, year 3 etc. all of the lower scales were sacrificed in favour of the top end. Again, todays money is worth more than tomorrows. How hard is this concept to understand. Because almost every pilot will be spending 10-25 years at step...

Re: Recall of the NC

Perhaps this is just a big misunderstanding. When AC told the media they want their pilots to be the best paid pilots in Canada they meant "other than new pilots, and expect for Flair, Morningstar and Corporate gigs and probably soon to be Porter". Sorry about the confusion. If this does get voted ...

Re: Air Tindi Flight Missing

I'm sad to hear of this, and having flown the 200 a lot I feel it's natural to have questions. To the Tindi family I'm sorry for your loss. The flight was CYZF to CEM3, 87 nm. That's a pretty short leg to do an IFR departure and set up for an RNAV GPS IAP, assuming that's what they did. That's what...

If it were a medevac flight I would suspect there would have been a flight nurse with them.

I wouldn't worry so much about the polygraph when you have the spinal tap to worry about.

Re: Canadian North Interview

Pretty straightforward interview. It’s about an hour long with HR and one of the chief pilots asking typical HR questions like why you want to work at Canadian North and name a time you made a mistake, strengths and weaknesses etc. I think if you pass that then they’ll ask you to do a sim eval or t...

Re: IFR Time logging. Rule of Thumb?

Just log all the air time as IFR if you need it. Who really gives a shit? Either you've been flying IFR for a while or you haven't. Timing how long you've been in cloud or without reference to a horizon is probably the most correct way in TC's eyes, but I think it's generally pretty well accepted ve...

north of 60 only means ground visibility figures do not impose an approach ban. I think if RVR is reported, regardless where geographically, it will impose a ban.

Approach Ban CYFB with OPs SPEC 503

I was hoping someone could clarify the approach ban for the ILS to runway 34 in Iqaluit. Advisory visibility is RVR 4000 or 3/4 sm. Now if a 705 operator has the Ops Spec 503 that allows use of the 50% approach ban minima, couldn't the pilots shoot the approach down to 2600 RVR? I recently heard sev...

For Sale: Canada Goose Snow Mantra Parka - Small - Navy

I have a Canada Goose snow mantra parka for sale. Small size, Navy blue. Purchased at Weaver and Devore in Yellowknife in 2010, worn in the arctic for 2 winters and not used since. Pretty good condition-- right hand cuff has become significantly frayed due to catching on velcro, but can be easily fi...
