Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
Would you guys drop the bragging piece! If you are taking it as that, then grow some. I'm not bragging. I don't disagree that westjet will reach a limit but there is lots of room yet. Maybe a tier 3 or some big planes! That's a few years away yet I think! I'm only providing some answers about encore...

Re: Encore's Pay and Work Conditions
Pretty sure calls have been going out and yes likely 6 months for an upgrade.
It's a collaborative thing for flow rates etc. for the MOA and anything beyond that.

Re: Encore's Pay and Work Conditions
Don’t apply until your comfortable applying. Nothing released as far as I know yet. There is the min 2 year language already in the MOA with a minimum of 25% flow guaranteed. Like I said, If you aren’t comfortable applying with that current language yet, then best wait. You never know in this world ...

Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
There are a lot more airlines than those two growing! I wasn't specific to airline, but here is a recent example what I would call the opposite. http://transat.mediaroom.com/2013-06-13-Transat-A-T-Inc-Results-for-Second-Quarter-2013-Significant-improvement-in-winter-results-return-to-profitability-e...

Everything from soup to nuts. I would say the average that I have seen is 5k TT. Flying at places like porter, jazz, calm air, caribou, transwest and hawk air. Military off the gonzo too.

Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
That's exactly it. TY white. If they like a guy but is not quite ready for a direct entry spot, then they are in the pool. The fall courses will allow a guy to sit through at least 6 months then upgrade. Time for some 705 time and some performance assessment. I know lots of metro/beech guys will now...

Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
False about the king air guys. Not bragging. If you want my opinion like you have yours, I don't see it as a threat.
Porter is an example. Training costs will be part if it as guys flow over to wj.

Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
Call it a pension if you want or call it extra money. That's for you to decide! So you say bump and flush works well? What is the cost of all the retraining? What about carrying years of service over, what would that cost? What happens if there were an acquisition like say porter? Should holidays be...

Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
Call it a return on investment. You put in a dime, you get 2 back a year later. It's worked for 16 years. Why not a couple more? Don't forget that the time spent at encore is minimal too. The way you talk it's like an eternity. With a plane a month and flow to wj in a couple years it shouldn't take ...

Re: WestJet earns $44.7 million in second quarter
Once the routes get built up and more aircraft come online, the schedules will be targeting efficient blocks between 80 and 85 hrs. It will, again, take a little time so that's what you can take your calculator out on. If you can afford the esp that will help too. 70 is a base pay guarantee. The dir...

Re: Hiring link
The Encore job posting expired July 1st and will be reposted again soon!
The westjet hiring is all done for 2013 as the winter schedule will be set up for better success (irop recoveries etc) thus requiring less new hires.

Re: EVIL FLOURISHES WHEN GOOD MEN DO NOTHING
Ok, ill clarify, my statement is no increase from last year yet they would rather stir the pot and say there is now 3 coming. They were pretty confident in the statement yet doesnt even know. Post with integrity. Has wjpa been quiet. Ask gilles, he has been invited out and has been talking with the ...

Re: Hiring link
June 24th has been notified so I didn’t count it in. July is still on as is Sept. These two classes are confirmed and have yet to be notified (30 days out). October is tentative but looking good based on what comes out from the winter schedule which is being worked right now.

Re: Hiring link
Good morning from rainy Calgary! The posting for WJ likely won't open now because there are only 2 courses left to fill with roughly 20 pilots in the current pool. As for the encore questions, flow is the only thing guaranteed today. However, the wjpa and senior management are very very close in rea...

I think he is trying to say: AC should open the number of jump seats up to equal the number of empty seats in the back in order to allow more recip pilots on.

Re: Westjet 2013 Hiring!
April 22nd course offers went out last week. There isn't much of a hiring pool left, in fact interviewing is continuing twice weekly. Wj is having a hard time keeping ahead of the hiring this year between the two companies. The WJ posting is down but will be up soon again. This purges the pool from ...

Re: Encore's Pay and Work Conditions
Flows and such aren't agreed to unless the bean counters model them. Needless to say, flow can be difficult if one or the other downsizes and other complications such as holiday transferring or when the flow occurs for manpower planning etc. One thing is for certain, wj and encore are both in agreem...
