Re: Spin Entry Controls

I was always taught..ailerons neutral prior to entering a spin. The C-150's were easy to spin, but the C-172's took a little persuasion to enter a spin cleanly...I remember right at the point of stall pulling back on whatever elevator control was left and bumping on, then off a few hundred RPM momen...

Umm yahh kids...be sure to lower full flap prior to impact...and be ready for the huge change in control forces due to the rapid loss of airspeed when you flare with the full flaps and no thrust! Practice full flap dead stick landings to an actual landing at your local airstrip! If you don't underst...

How did we ever win WW2 with all those 200 hr kids flying fighters and bombers? ...Well, that was a much...ahem.. "hardier generation".. to say the least! My observation in regards to smaller companies competing for Pilots with the Regionals is that about the only thing that remote 703/704 operator...

Stranded Onboard...Again!

Just wondering why on earth would the passengers be kept onboard the aircraft in Rome for 6 hours in a sweltering cabin?
There may be a good reason, but I don’t know what that would be, maybe custom issues? 🤷🏻‍♂️ Just asking.

Yes, you can totally do your IFR on a single engine, and it can then be up graded to a Class 1 once your company gives you your ride on a twin engine later down the road. Flight schools will never tell you that though.

There is a phenomeum when you continue to rotate on climb-out, the inner ear fluid movement causes you to think you are in a steepening climb and you nose down too much to compensate. Please elaborate, those who know what i am talkin about The phenomenon you are referring to is called "Somatogravic...

As a new Instructor/VFR Charter guy, giving sight seeing flights and Photo Flights, I had just returned from a training flight only to be told that my next customer was waiting... In front of everyone, I was pressured into giving a sight seeing flight to a 300LBS customer in a C-150! It went without...

Re: Cancelled flights.

Or what she meant was..... the Q400 is notorious for getting “Prop de-ice caution light”. If reset doesnt solve then swap/delay or cancel/fix. Had the Q shaking like an animal one time in moderate-severe ice due to that issue. Pretty unnerving. You don't have a procedure to increase the prop RPM to...

Re: First Day as a new First Officer

I fondly remember my first revenue flight as a new First Officer on a turbo-prop, I felt ready to fly the aircraft after getting my five hours of right seat training. I showed up early, put my "Rampy" skills to work by getting the plane loaded and ready to go. Passengers loaded, safety briefing done...

Those would be the guys/gals that never learned proper x-wind technique and make excruciatingly ugly x-wind landings that make for dramatic video on Youtube!

So I'm not the only one that cringes every time I watch those x-wind landings that get posted to YouTube, you know the ones where the aircraft's land without ever having any x-wind correction at touchdown or even during their swerving roll-outs? I'm not getting the point. My only real point is.......to give an example of the quality of information one might get from the cabin and to consider that before assessing. There is no comment on what the flight deck crew did which seems quite reasonable although your suggestion of a pilot taking a ...
