Northwest company is making lots of changes. rumour is First Air lost the Eastern Arctic and Buffalo lost the Valley.

And that would explain why the First Air/CDN North merger is happening so quickly...

Does Northstar have a big enough freighter fleet to cover all that territory ?

Re: First Air and Canadian North to merge

https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/first-air-and-canadian-north-join-forces-to-better-serve-pan-arctic-communities-687526481.html I think there will be consolidation on some northern routes, my guess is CDN Norths small Dash 8 fleet will be gone, with more ATRs purchased as replacements. I wonder...

How else will the pop and chips get to the communities on time...especially when pop is going for 5 bucks a can in a lot of the arctic villages...must be a very lucrative business for 7F....wonder why 5T doesn't raise a stink over the competition getting federal cash instead of them for this type of...

What is the current Voyageur payscale since someone in a previous post said it was improved ? Can't see it matching current Jazz salary and perdiem rates especially for Captain's...so what's the incentive ?

Re: New hire bids

Out of curiosity, how do the 4 Jazz pilot bases break down in terms of # of pilots at each ? And which bases have the largest # of RJs, or Q400s or Dash Classics at each ?

Ouch...if the party is indeed over for now, those FO wages would be hard to take if there is little movement in the near future...

Were they not looking at operating Q400s a few yrs back after some of their engineers got a Q4 course, or did that all fizzle out.

Anyone from Jazz care to predict for the remainder of 2018 and heading into 2019 how long upgrade times will be ? Any sign of a slowdown ?

Re: Porter Airlines YQT Base - We are hiring!

If Porter ever started YQT-YWG skeds, I could see interest by pilots from Manitoba & west in working for Porter even to a YQT base if their commuting policy would allow it.

I have always enjoyed the wings and burgers at Turtle Jacks when in Ontario...

Best restaurant view was a place called Faze 3 near the airport in Entebbe Uganda....the patio view overlooking Lake Victoria was something.
