Re: Chorus/Ggn/Sky merge

Chorus must be looking beyond the CPA's with their diversification/expansion into the regional aircraft leasing market and buying Voyageur over the past few yrs... not having all their "eggs in one basket", does it mean they see something ominous regarding the relationship with AC and the Express br...

Re: Transport Canada - Betrayal and fatigue

And once the new watered down to appease industry fatigue rules do come in to effect, isn't TC going to allow company's to implement some sort of BS fatigue management program to get around the rules...basically set up some sort of internal company training program so you will be "educated" about fa...

Re: Swoop cancels US flights due lack of approvals

A rumour I heard is that the only way for a WJ FO to upgrade without waiting for the second coming is to jump over to Swoop. I guess this a thing you can do now? Or throw in your resignation and go OTS DEC back into Swoop? A guy I know who’s considering this (I don’t know the exact way he’s doing i...

Re: Duty rules?

Still doesn't mean it's safe, outdated regulations and a piece of paper doesn't replace experience..accident(s) is/are a matter of time, as a result of greed/stupidity from industry and coward regulators.

Re: Duty rules?

Things will only change, unfortunately when the kids flying Q400s and the like these days starting turning them into lawn darts across the country, limited experience and fatigue should be a giant red flag..you'd think with what happened in the past (ie. Colgan 3407), industry would learn from the m...

Re: KENTING

Was it Kenting or ? that used Mosquito's for photo survey's across the north in the late 40's early 50's...as I recall back in the summer of 96 hauling pallets of what I thought was junk out of YRT ,until I had a closer look and realized there was a Merlin engine among the junk....all pieces of a Mo...

Re: KENTING

I think there is a Kenting DC 3 parked out on the tundra about 40-50 miles NE of YFB, I heard the story was that it crashed landed after running out of fuel on the way down from Clyde River(?) around 1974-75 (nobody got hurt). You might want to track down any older Borek or First Air pilots who migh...

And does North Star have any rotational flying positions ?

Re: First Air ATR posting

Also both companies are very senior so if /(when) the merger is done, good luck to those lower on the combined seniority list ever seeing a left seat. I see the 5T side becoming the charter ops and the 7F side becoming arctic sched only ops of the merged company... Maybe the -8s will be saved if the...

Northwest company is making lots of changes. rumour is First Air lost the Eastern Arctic and Buffalo lost the Valley.

And that would explain why the First Air/CDN North merger is happening so quickly...

Does Northstar have a big enough freighter fleet to cover all that territory ?

https://www.newswire.ca/news-releases/first-air-and-canadian-north-join-forces-to-better-serve-pan-arctic-communities-687526481.html I think there will be consolidation on some northern routes, my guess is CDN Norths small Dash 8 fleet will be gone, with more ATRs purchased as replacements.
