Re: Temporary foreign pilots in 2013
I know only of one guy that tried other than me. I was told there that license conversion no problem, work permit a different story. So I ended going to South America cause I have dual citizenship. 15 years and not sure when I will quit going yet. The other guy I can't say. I see how operators here ...

Re: Any advice on flying to Mexico?
A few years back I was in Arizona picking up an Ag plane to ferry to South America and met with a Mexican pilot there and we talked about routes. I said I preferred the direct route through the Amazon instead of the Pacific and then going across the Andes but wouldn't mind trying it. He said to me :...

Re: Temporary foreign pilots in 2013
Please remember that there is not such a thing as and Ag rating in our system, all one needs is a commercial license. And of course training so one can do a good job for the farmer, not bend metal and survive in the process. The training at certain facilities is mandatory for companies that have the...

If a customer of mine shows up with a field like that I tell them to do it with the ground rig!
Awesome flying skills though!

Sergei took me up for a ride on that SP. Now that airplane is somewhere in Germany. The John Deere one went to Europe but came back to it's original owner who brokered the sale to me. Something happened in Denmark and they could not register it, it flew on the N registration with the intended Danish...

Re: Interavia I3
Thanks!
No cracks on this one but it did have a history of departing canopies in flight due to a design flaw I guess.
Problem has been fixed and I can't wait till I come back to Canada in the Spring to start having some fun, finally.

Re: Man ditches plane into ocean
A 660 Thrush made it across with additional wing tanks the day after and also a couple of 802's coming from Conair. I don't know about the 802's but the Thrush was carrying full hopper + 300 gals on tanks under the wings + 228 on it's own tanks. I thought he could be short as well.... Not an easy jo...

Cat, We mostly fly these days in a race track pattern, it's more efficient. But as the parallel you described, the starting edge would be determined by wind direction.(right or left turns are the choice of the pilot or the type of aircraft you fly, some turn better to one side due to sense of propel...

Re: Episode 2 Teaser of Dust Up ~ A Sprayer's Paradise
The industry doesn't need the scripted drama bullshit of something like this . Period Among other things you can see one of them chasing a flock of ducks until he hits one for the camera and the drama of striped gears on the engine after the strike...I could puke.... I guess GYOY still has the same ...

Re: ANR Feedback
Well, I don't think for the ANR modules cause the installation is not done by them and has nothing to do with Gentex. Refurb I don't see a problem, besides Gibson takes quite a bit of time to return the helmet back to you, for that reason and avoiding the need to carry one every year here is that I ...
