Re: Why on earth are CF-18's in Bagotville?
I don't know so much about Cold lake But Bagotville is quite simple.... the Base started activity in JUly 1942, during WW2 What was in the St-lawrence during WW2? German U-boat, What was one of the biggest ressource you want to protect for the war effort? aluminium and What Factory is right next to ...

Re: RAIM Warning
it's not the opposite? You can go to the FAF with a RAIM warning but not below .... I don't remember where I could have seen this so don'T quote me .. Unless you are still using a kln 90b RAIM warnings are almost inexistant.. (at least in the east) But I would definitively have a plan B set up

Re: Jobs between 200 and 250 hours
here is a TC list of all the two crew aircraft
http://www.tc.gc.ca/eng/civilaviation/r ... 2-1393.htm
Good luck in your search, yes there is a "pilot shortage" but i would qualify it more like better opportunities than couple years ago, but don'T accept anything unfair

Re: Log SIC hours on Let410
like any other single pilot aircraft that you have a PPC or not you can log the time as SIC according to your Company Operation Manual. If it state that you require 2 pilot then you will be trained by the cie. (PCC) and you will need to bring with you in order to get your ATPL a letter from the cie ...

Re: ATPL Application
I called very recently and was told it had to be certified by my CP. Applying in Ontario. Just Called this morning (YUL), she told me CP letter is not required because for TC the pilot is responsible and trustworthy with his signature only. She told me to double check those things: -Every page of y...

Re: iPad Mini 4 and ForeFlight
I have the mini 3 with 64 GB, had US and CANADA VFR and IFR maps ans charts, worked fined, if you start to run out of space you can deselect some province that you dont fly or not planning to and reselect them later, every month or so you will have to download all the current data anyway so might be...

Re: log book entries
It might not be "by the book" but personnaly I log per day, and add notes for the different stops or any special thing that happen, the sched route is coded on my logbook as well so I won't have to write 15 airports per day I hope TC is still comprehensive and able to understand different kind of op...

Re: ATPL Time Rejected??
I hope you don't mean that. If you filed IFR and you're in VMC in classes C to G, you had bloody well be looking out the window for VFR traffic. you are right! it is still PIC responsability to avoid VFR traffic, but you still cannot do like that guy doing a scenic tour on IFR, just because it was ...

Re: ATPL Time Rejected??
"Simulated instrument flight time" means wearing a hood or other view-limiting device. You simulate instrument conditions by wearing one. The idea that "navigating on radials" time counts for anything is hilarious. Can I credit "pressing direct on the GPS while severe VFR" towards my PPL instrument...

Re: ATPL Time Rejected??
What do you mean "logged the rest of them properly"? If I file vfr, I'm logging vfr. If I file ifr, I'm logging instrument time. The weather on that particular day is almost irrelevant to the flight rules being operated under. You can file ifr on a day without a cloud in the sky...it's still instru...

Loved my David Clark, did the job until I change for the bose A20! worth every penny I spend, wish I I would have bought them in first place (money was short) If you consider to put some extra money, Bose probably have the best headset on the market, but you will need to pay big money, heard the Zul...
