Re: One list

It’s not about entitlement. It’s about attracting experienced pilots to mainline and retaining them. If there ever isn’t a need for OTS hires than it will all come from Encore and you have nothing to worry about. The majority of pilots just voted for 2 lists so I don’t know where you get that idea ...

Re: SWOOP OTS Captains punted from left seat...

Not much to celebrate, WestJet pilots could have had these jobs two years ago likely for higher pay. Discourses like this do not reflect well on WestJet, its pilots and its culture which means in reality for aspiring pilots the viable choices in Canada are Air Canada if one can survive the entry pa...

Re: Everyday at WJ : union busting

I’m a self-centred, narcisstic egomaniac, prone to bouts of megalomania, who suffers from an insufferable desire to be heard, and who has been under a lifelong need to talk about himself and while simultaneously ignoring the needs of others. And, truth be told, those are my good qualities. Now, wha...

That wasn't Bede, that was me you were accusing of "encouraging people to leave the company"- dramatically overstating my observation of the current state of the industry.

Best leave Bede alone, he is way out of your league.

The note says "We were informed.... If this is true..." It was framed as unconfirmed. You are looking for a lie that isn't there, then calling it a lie on an external forum. Then recklessly call it "just another example". I know basic language arts are not a requirement for WestJet pilots, but you ...

Just another example of the weekly mec updates not being truthful. You would have thought they would put fact into those notes. Sad really. The note says "We were informed.... If this is true..." Re: Gregg Saretsky is the modern Frank Lorenzo

You are in la la land if you don't think there's an opportunity for a ULCC in Canada. Is it as big an opportunity as the opportunity WJ had to exploit a void in 1996? Probably not. But it's there and WJ needs to absolutely dominate and control it in order to protect the larger franchise. Take a qui...

I’ll bet you haven’t asked him or the other MEC person if they applied personally? Na. Didn’t think so. I think you will be surprised. It’s still a demonstration that they lack the commitment. Not the people you want in there. Just sayin. Better yet. Ask it on the Alpa forum! I’ll grab some popcorn...

That the guy that applied to AC on the left? Awesome loyalty. Pity they dragged pilot assistance into it as well......... That should stay out of any of this. In the United States of America the accepted spelling of rumor is "rumour". In Canada, the accepted spelling is "rumour". : I put more care in my posts here. Re: Why would anyone want to go to Swoop?

I have heard that there were close to 100 internal applications from current WS pilots. That means that there were probably 100 individual reasons why to go to Swoop. Interesting, I didn't hear of an internal job posting. 100 percent of the WJA pilots I know, know nothing about it.... So where did ...

Can any of you remind me of all of these promises ALPA made us? As far as I remember they clearly stated in many emails (while the company was sending out its lawyer sponsored fraud) that they in fact make no promises. What they did in fact promise us was proper and fair representation as well as '...

While you guys go on about stopping with a flat tire at V1, remember we are talking about YVR, and there are NO numbers for successfully completing a TO on the rims, or climb out with the gears hanging (which you are almost assured it will be in this case), let alone an actual engine failure alone w...

Re: feb 01 westjet rejects t/o..

Amen Ilya. There is no "blown tire" light, but the accompanying sensations can be alarming. There is also the simple issue of damage caused by tires , particularly at high speeds. Think Concord and others. A reject prior V1 should be able to be safely accomplished or the numbers mean nothing. Gettin...

Re: Air Canada Accident in YHZ

Hi guys Just a question and no comment on what happened. Given that it was so short of the runway regardless of if it was stabilized or not would the egpws be inhibited as it was on the approach and very near the runway or would it not have given some sort of indication that they were low? Didnt so...
