Went out to CYAV today to do some more flying on the arrow at WPG aviation. Went up with another pilot that has his CPL, we startup and our origonal intent was to go to kenora. But ofcourse that didn't work out. We departed on 36, and shorty after departure, we heard a lot of wind and felt a good FR...

Your not too far from Kelowna, Air Hart Aviation is an AWESOME float training facility! The have a 172HawkXP there to train on. I did about 25 hours there and the instructors were top knotch! I agree, Winnipeg/St.Andrews is pretty good during the winter months...I fly at Winnipeg Aviation, and never regreted it for a second.
