Re: Execaire is hiring for the Challenger in Winnipeg

I may be uniquely qualified to discuss the job opening in Winnipeg. I sat in that seat for the last 15 years and recently retired. For those who seek the job -- It is truly one of the best. The Winnipeg crew from groomers to maintainers thru pilots are an excellent bunch. The passengers you will bec...

Re: 3 Pilots 1 Plane Schedule Ideas

We have been doing this for years. 2 weeks on, 1 week off. It is CARs compliant and is good quality of life. Requires flexibility to cover training and other sundry day off requests.

Re: appreciate constructive tips to secure first f/o jet pos

Hi Old N I have been operating in the corporate world for over 40 years. I am a training captain on what most would say is heavy corporate iron. Here are a few things I have learned along the way. Resumes are far less important to Corporate operators than to the airlines. Pilot skills can be taught ...

Re: What was the first airplane you flew in?

7 April, 1961. Canadian Air Force North Star. Trenton Ontario to Germany. I was 7. We turned back about 3 or 4 hours into the flight. The U.S.A. had just invaded Cuba (Bay of Pigs). We stayed in Trenton for about a week wondering if WW3 was about to start. It did't, so my second flight to Germany wa...

Re: Lies, cover-ups mask roots of small aircraft carnage

Beech was once successfully sued when one of their airplanes tried to take off with only a couple of gallons of fuel in the tanks. Obviously the flight ended at the end of the runway but the courts ruled Beechcraft was at fault for for not telling the pilot he needed fuel to fly. FAA made them put a...

Re: Passport question re: travel to UK

I renewed my passport a few months ago here in YWG. I was in line at 1000hrs, waited no more than 30 minutes. When I got home around 1600 there was a message on my machine to come collect my new one!! Valid for ten years. I paid the higher price and told them I was on days off until I got the new on...

Re: New Paint for CAN FORCE One

I am not a big supporter of the new color. The blue does not reflect Canada's official colors. Of much bigger concern is how the media is portraying this as a $50000.00 paint job. Anybody who has painted any aircraft in the last few years knows that amount does not pass the smell test. It might refl...

Re: Logging Sim Time

Cut and paste from CAR 101. "air time" - means, with respect to keeping technical records, the time from the moment an aircraft leaves the surface until it comes into contact with the surface at the next point of landing; (temps dans les airs) If the wheels do not leave the ground you have not gone ...

I fly out of YWG. Last year I renewed my passport in person downtown. I explained that I could not fly (work)without it. Paid the extra $ for quick service. I had my new passport in hand at 0900 on the second day. Most of my trips are international but I did not miss a day of work. Bitch about civil...

Can you kill on demand? Can you die on command? That is all your country will require of you. When you try to get a civilian job you will need to find a company with ex military pilots because the rest will not like your skill set. Check the eye surgery thing very carefully. I know more guys who hav...

Re: TSA get their just deserts

I think restaurants should let them in. They just need to abide by the new gudelines:) 1) All TSA agents that have been pre-identified must wait in line outside the restaurant for a minimum of 20 minutes while the wait staff share private jokes (best if in another language). 2) after entry into the ...

We have been using the A20s for a month now. They are quieter than the X's they replaced. I love every thing about them. Comfortable even after several hours with better sound.
