Brutal
Holy christ. 258k is brutal. Get your head outta the sand. If that’s brutal you’ve clearly made some wrong life choices cause I know 100s who would line up for that in any industry.
Mr. "Offthecuff", who's head is in the sand?

Re: YVR Commuters

Wondering if there's anyone who commutes from YYZ/YUL to YVR. I'd love to hear how you make it work, what the schedules are like for more junior guys, etc. Are you able to bid pairings that begin and end with deadheads to YVR? DM me if you'd like. Thanks! Canada340, our flying is really varied so y...

Re: YVR Commuters

The corridor between YVR and YYZ is well served so you have a lot of options. That being said our flights are the most reliable bet for commuting (I've never been bumped myself). There are a few crash pad options in YYZ, which you would probably need to use as the hotels around the airport have beco...

There are a number of guys commuting from YVR and even YYJ. I also wouldn't be surprised to see the YVR base grow a little in the coming years but it is pretty much on ice right now.

Re: 2 Air Transat pilots charged with being impaired

This entire event has been unbelievably unfortunate right from the start. Equally unfortunate that the general public that otherwise quietly enjoys a very decent service will be swayed by the media. I just hope Transat will now be able to come up with an appropriate solution and be able to present i...

Re: Sunwing fleet and pilot rosters for the 2015/2015 season

It's not about getting in trouble Gilles. It's that you have a history of manipulating information for your benefit rather than having a frank discussion and working together with your industry peers. For example, now that Air Transat is using wet-leases with crew, wet-leases are no longer bad, but...

Re: Is it only Sunwing?

What you have to realize is that the right intentions are indeed behind this push for fair, politically responsible and effective action. I get the sense you understand that. As good a tool as these forums are, it is also worth being aware they are particularly susceptible to a compromised quality o...

Re: Quebec is pro TFW apparently

On a very fundamental level Bertrand claims Canadians, Quebec included, can only support the idea of protecting Canadian jobs. Her argument is only that the Harper government (big surprise) is not taking proper care to implement the changes to the TFW program in a way that does not unnecessarily har...

Re: Toronto Star article on Temporary Foreign Worker pilots

May I remind you that until February 2014, Air Transat had no B737s. In December 2014 we operated 12 B737s, all flown by Canadian pilots, with Canadian licences. We Type rated over 125 pilots in the course of that period, plus hired about a dozen Type rated pilots. We did everyone's line indoctrina...

I'm sure that would be great for his career hiring potential. A new company will be interested in what you say about the former company or if you are willing to be discreet. After all, that is what they will expect from their chief pilot. Because you think that part would be posted here ? Usually w...

Re: Sky Regional Pilot Contract

Here it is. The Good: 1) Seniority is based on experience. I actually really like this system and think all airlines should do this. I'm against the seniority system because it affects labour mobility and ties employees to their employers who can abuse them because they know employees won't leave. ...

Do you think a 14,000 hr Q400 ACP will be enough to get into WJ Regional? I hope they are planning on paying enough to make it interesting enough to get some good people Who says they will be willing to hire guys from AC? Odd, I don't remember any Q400 ACPs ever working at AC. Hmmm .... Your post r...

The concept of using foreign pilots is being abused by these companies in order to create a niche for themselves in our market. Canada doesn't need foreign pilots. What's so impossible with doing enough outsourcing to provide more steady work for your employees year round? Ranstrat does it...

Re: Hawkair / Suncor close call Fort MacKay

Hawkair does not have a positive track record! It was under the same ownership/management as Bar XH Air, which had similar problems and has since ceased to exist as an independent entity, being taken over a year or so ago by Integra and the "management" changed. What is so disturbing is that nothin...
