Re: Parlez vous le 'spy talk'?

Bonjour Altiplano, A parallel argument is not a comparison. 1) Québec wants its culture and language recognized and protected, 2) Canada wants its society COVID free and vaccinated. Both are goals. Both require a general recognition that society will participate. Both get confounded in Politics when...

Re: Parlez vous le 'spy talk'?

Every society is distinct Altiplano, including for those that have lived in Montreal for a long time and haven’t bothered to try and learn French. They are insiders and they have no desire to learn the language of the provincial majority until they embarrass themselves. Which brings me to my questio...

Re: Parlez vous le 'spy talk'?

Rousseau is complimenting Montreal and its' people for welcoming him, for being so diverse and tolerant and accepting of an outsider with subpar French ability that is intended as a friendly gesture and show of respect... but it's not enough, never will be enough, for Counterpoint, Quebec, and Queb...

“ Understanding does not mean that I have to sympathize with your thoughts nor does it mean that I have to respect your thoughts.”

Bravo - you’ve made my point.

Re: Parlez vous le 'spy talk'?

If you aren’t from Quebec and are an allophone living in Quebec, or an Anglophone living in Canada, then perhaps you might try and get a perspective from a generation of Francophones living in Quebec, that were raised, educated, and worked in the pre-Révolution Tranquille era. That perspective will ...

Re: Parlez vous le 'spy talk'?

Oh counterpoint... Quebec and Quebecers... centre of the universe... so fragile... so special... we all need kid gloves to handle you. Rousseau was offensive? Arrogant? No. Treating and embarrassing someone, a guest speaker, the way they did, that's rude, that's arrogance. Everyone wasn't raised wi...

Re: Parlez vous le 'spy talk'?

This MR answer to a reporter’s question was nothing short of a PR disaster. It has nothing to do with the GG’s ability or speak French (she has more sense than to have said anything like what MR did) government money or even the French fact in Quebec. This has to do with the way he answered the ques...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

If ALPA AT won’t allow their pilots to do OT until they are all back flying so be it. Their members suffered far more harm than we have. Uh what? If we compare bottom of the list AC to bottom of the list AT, their pilots received an extra year and a bit (or $30k) worth of CEWS. They will likely be ...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

Well I guess I’ve made my counterpoints, as a member of the ACPA, you all seem to think I’m somebody else, all part of the hostility and rage I guess.

Let’s hope GR can get us ALPA and satisfy all that makes you folks mad.

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

Vitriolic Fantastic rant ! Couldn’t I be a member presumably just like you? I am not on Facebook. I don’t have a Vice-Chair. The only difference between you and me, is that I feel the latest deal was on balance okay. Our seniority is respected in bidding days off, and we get compensated for the best...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

I understand gaslighting and the yellow union thing and the it’s not our the ACPA job to run the company. But isn’t in our collective interest to keep the company on a solid footing? This pandemic is a a problem for us as employed pilots no? I don’t see the leverage from the buybacks. The flying wou...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

Well I see their point, but I disagree with their conclusion. The monthly pay uplift and overtime (on Gdays) is really significant, so is the all Gdays. I see the value. As for the other point about vacation buyback it looks like the company made a mistake in letting all the 777CA ERIP go and then g...

Re: No pilot recalls until Spring 2023???

I thought all the days in POR block were going to Gdays ?

Isn’t that better ?

Also, if you do work on those Gdays it’s double time no ? And don’t they give you the Gdays back ?

Re: Take the vaccine, or lose your job - WTF?

Montano,

You’ve completely missed the point that was made.

It’s’ a moving target. The conclusion was made after the fact. Read the whole report. Your highlighted “at this point in time”, isn’t “at the time this was implemented”.

But you understand this right ?

I understand that with vaccines things should be different, So yes its quite possible a policy this winter will be different than last. Policy will be different this winter. But because its a moving target, they might tighten up or loosen up rules and restrictions. This quote from your post makes m...

Re: Take the vaccine, or lose your job - WTF?

Wrong again. US Feds offer weekly testing as an alternative under this program. Okay, so this is the answer? How often should we get tested? Should we be forced to come in on our days off to get tested? How do we make this happen? You're the expert, tell us. I'm only commenting on the US program sp...
