Re: Postpone a PPC

If you mean training and/or a ride for a recurrent PPC (not initial), then you are looking at a PPC Extension and they are normally good for 60 days past expiry.

Re: What about the pilots in the Antarctic

Probably none left down there to be stuck. Flying season finished at the end of February (normal season is November to February - 4 months). Looked like most of the Canadian company planes made it back to Canada a week or two ago.

Re: Skylink Planes

#gps_shaming What kind of GPS do you have in the mighty ‘ole 152? Is it IFR certified? How much does it cost to keep the database current? Do you know the cost to install a certified IFR GPS in a SFAR 41C airplane? Just because they don’t upgrade the GPS doesn’t mean they are skimping on maintenance...

Isn’t Terrace Bay closed?

Sundridge/South River Airpark, ON (CPE6) is a perfect spot for you to stop and camp. Some of the smoothest grass runways you will ever find plus The “Terminal” building has showers and fuel is available.

Re: Snow delay’s YYZ

Flightaware sometimes uses the average delay of all the Enroute/Scheduled to and Scheduled Departures to come up with times for their Misery Map. If you want the real Schniz on the delays, have a look at the following link to the NavCanada OIS which will give you the Ground Delay, Ground Stop and ot...

Re: Flying into USA

Yeah. NEVER get out of the aircraft until CBP shows up. Anywhere. Except for most airports in SE Florida (MIA, FLL, PBI, FXE, OPF), where you will be waiting a long time for someone to show up. At those airports, you are expected to park in the Customs area and proceed to the Customs office for cle...

Re: Airplane log times vs pilot log times

Tach time used to be the standard for airframe time. The US still seems to use that for that purpose. Tach hour meters are set up to correspond to the typical cruise RPM setting equaling an hour in real life (i.e 2300 RPM tachometer will read 1 hour at that RPM; less than an hour at higher settings ...

Re: PA-34 RTO @ YPK-What happened

Tried to takeoff with full flaps. Left down after walkaround. Not saying that happened, but it would produce a similar result. The Seneca II has the Johnson bar flap handle just like the Cherokee that makes it difficult to get into the left seat with it raised in the full flap position. Not impossi...

Re: Missing airplane on flight from Penticton to Edmonton

Nothing on the Flight Aware links. Link seems to work for me, but you can just search for CFESN on flightaware to get it. You'll need an account with FlightAware to see it since it is a Position-Only Flight and you can only select that option with an account. It can be found under the My Account ta...
