Re: How will Immediate roadside prohibition affect career as an airline pilot ?
If you get criminally convicted for impaired driving, you will be given a driving prohibition which states you cannot operate any conveyance which includes an aircraft, golf cart, anything that is not muscular powered.

Re: ICAO to TC and advice to a foreigner
The hardest excercise for foreign conversion candidates is navigation, in my opinion. You do not know the area and depending on what your training was in your original country, dead reckoning and map reading skills could be lacking. Flying commercially and flying to flight test standards in a traini...

Re: In the ICUs, the unvaccinated are silent.
Funny how the anti-vaxers never acknowledge the inconvenient fact that 90 % of the people in the ICU with COVID are unvaccinated despite that cohort only making up only 18 to 28 % of the population, depending on the province I am fortunate enough to live in BC, where the government response while f...

Re: Convert foreign CPL(A) to Canada CPL(A) - must do 65 hours in Canada?
You have to have proof in your log book that you have completed the equivalent training from your issuing country, including the 300nm xcountry. If you do, all you need to do in Canada is the written and a flight test. I believe to do the written, you have to do at least 5 takeoffs and landings in C...

Re: ICAO Licence Conversion
You would need to do a cpl conversion. To do so, you will have to write the cpl exam and do a cpl flight test. How much dual training you need will depend on your skills. Then you can do your instructor rating. Also don't forget about a cat 1 medical. Generally we all know how to fly but flying for ...

Re: Logging hours towards CPL
If i can recall correctly, Canada will recognize licenses but not training hours towards a license, so your training hours may not count for dual time in the ptr but will count towards your tt for cpl. Sorry i can't source the info at the moment. Maybe someone can clarify.

Life Insurance
Hi folks, just wondering if anyone could suggest a life insurance broker who specializes in aviation. Got quotes from the big name insurance companies and they want to charge crazy amounts (3-400/month) for my life insurance because I don't fly for a 705 operation. I've done a search on avcanada and...
