Re: Air Canada Ultimatum
I was in the same situation 5 years ago at the age of 40. I went for Air Canada and have zero regrets. Stability, scheduled days off and a pension were my deciding factors.

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool
That is where I am at Bebe. I don't think I am alone. I can't see leaving my six figure 703\604 job for a chance to maybe get to fly for a major airline. I did my time in the north (Arctic North) accumulated a lot of multi turbine PIC which lead me back to a major city and a very good left seat job ...

Re: Upgrades
seriousflyer I spent several years in the Arctic then transitioned to a southern job. Flight planning is flight planning. I have a more elaborate flight planning program provided to me in the south then I did in the north. I found in the Arctic on poor weather days you would need to think beyond the...

Re: Upgrades
Illya Check your facts and the CAR's. King Air 200's or any aircraft under 12566lbs max take off weight do not require an ATPL to be Captain. CAR's min for a 704 Capt is 1200 hours. (It is in the standards 724) We were 704 due to the number of seats. The insurence policy had no reference to the numb...

Re: Upgrades
I was upgraded to the left seat of a King Air 200 at 1200TT. If the Captains you currently fly with are not supporting your upgrade you need to listen to them and work on your weak areas. I had the support of all my Captains and I still though it was early to upgrade. It helped that I was so far nor...

Re: Piaggio Avanti in Ice
Great airplane! The Piaggio handles ice well. As stated before the aircrafts climb performance is great so you are never in icing for long. When you enter icing conditions and ice is detected the ice detection system alerts you that ice has been detected and advises your if any of your anti ice syst...

I would recommend taking the Georgian Aviation Management Course. I found the program to be an excellent experience. You will have the opportunity to look at various facets of aviation. It is a generalist course which is a great platform to begin your aviation career. I took the program and continue...
