Re: ACA starting position

That process hasn't started yet. Thanks to acpa, a complete overhaul of the contract needs to be done. This won't be a quick process, but both sides are meeting frequently and actively engaged in continued negotiations.

I'm not buying what you're selling.

The first red lanyards were available 10 weeks ago at the YYZ picket on the 29th of September.
This is false. The union was handing out blue alpa lanyards at the Toronto picket. Red ones weren't available to anyone at that time.

The pilots wear the navy blue Alpa lanyards. The red ones haven't been widely distributed yet.

Re: EXPECTED NUMBER OF RETIREES AT AC.

We have a website made by ALPA to get an estimate for the upgrade times. I was hired a year ago and can be 330 WB captain, bottom reserve, in 24 years from now. 777 captain bottom reserve 26 years from now. For narrow body, 220 captain on reserve in 3 years and a block in 8 years. That's for the YY...

Re: What's the over and under pilots can focus on contract negotiations

One pilot is garnering more attention than the fact we have 5,000 of the lowest paid global airline pilots in the world in this country Why do pilots spend so much time on something they have no control over like wars in the middle east? Maybe get off avcanada for a bit? There’s been zero talk abou...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

Quick Q. What are the reasons for quick commands being available? Not enough pilots? Lifestyle choices? Not enough candidates with hours, allowing those with less seniority to jump ahead? Upgrades are strictly seniority based, there's no such things as not enough hours. But not enough pilots defini...

Re: Air Canada vs WestJet

You probably never work for AC correct? I just check each fleet's schedule, and even with some junior FO, it's 12-14 days working on the narrow body. Wide body RP are working less than 14 days and laying over in Rome, Vienna, Lisbon...etc People are making shit up, in my last company one captain to...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

That'll vary by the fleet and month. Looking at the Aug YZ37, there's guys in the bottom 10 positions holding blocks, versus the 319 where the bottom ~25 (12%) are on rsv. I think generally about 20% will be on rsv.

Imo it'll continue for a little while yet. Still lots of 220s to arrive, followed by the NEOs if that ever happens.

Re: New pay scale Aug 1 Dash and E2

With AC's pension plan(CWIPP) and stock buying/matching program(ESOP). You saved way more money at AC. Also don't forget benefits and insurance are 100% covered at AC. Like above already mention, YOS don't carry left to right nor from dash to E2 (unless you have more than 10yr on dash) Current CWIP...

Re: New pay scale Aug 1 Dash and E2

Why is everyone assuming that AC won't be effected by this?? Y5 captain on the E2 makes more than an AC captain. At AC it takes you much much longer to be sitting on the left seat, and even once you get there a porter captain will be set to make more than you in a few years. And much more than you ...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

If you get an rp position on the 330, 777, 787 can you eventually upgrade positions to fo on the same plane? Or would you have to go on a narrow body to get that jet time and re bid to get back on a widebody as a fo? Forgive me, just curious how that whole thing works. There's no such rules like th...

Re: How does reserve work

Despite the garbage reserve rules, it can work out quite well for some. I bid for reserve because I get much better flying than I would holding a (not senior) block, fly fewer days, and am home most nights. I'm also able to pass a few times every month, but sometimes it's more advantageous to accept...
