Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

They’re not monsters. An email is completely fine, they are not going to pfo you because you followed up. That’s some next level stupidity

Re: Airline lifestyle

Sure 40k + per diems = 50k ish. but you get quite a lot of that taken away by deductions at Jazz. You’ll be lucky to take home 2000 a month without per diems in your first year.

Re: New hire bids

To be fair, at least AC gives you a few days to figure it out and talk it over with the ones who it’ll affect.

Jazz was just a simple “you got 24 hours good luck”, which to me was unexpected.

Settle this like men:

YYZ Viscount parking lot, Level 5, 15:00.

Let's see some real taxable benefits.
Better show up an hour early to find a parking spot!

Some recent new hires off the street were in the 2000 range. Mind you they checked off the aviation university box and 705 experience.

Re: Any chance we just lost our AC flow?

I’m sure you’re aware that this deal will not simply take place overnight. It may be signed in the next 30 days, but there is still months of stuff that needs to happen before the deal is officially closed. The max will be flying by then! (I hope )

Re: Any chance we just lost our AC flow?

Everyone needs to relax !

Let the deal actually be signed first. And AC isn’t just taking 550 pilots with no aircraft, the planes are coming too. AC will still be short pilots regardless.

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I know of a few individuals who interviewed mid march, received calls last week of April for a May 20th GS. Just in terms of where they might be for interview vs ground school offering time.

Lol. I made 55k my first year working up north. I’m glad you cucks are thrilled with living in YVR for 38K. (Edit) Actually with inflation it was 61k. I made 50 in my first year at jazz, and guess what, I didn’t live in the middle of nowhere! Well then you must be one of those guys with no family w...

Re: Jazz Payscale Updated 2019

Picking up 1 day of OT a month goes a long way for you guys! 129.98 X 1.5 (OT) X 4.5 (min day) = 877.16 1 a month will get you a greasy $10500 extra a year! No imagine if you did 2, or not min credits, etc etc. Popping in for an extra day of work a month is not hard, and you definitely cannot compl...

Re: Things are brewing in the kitchen.

I'd be shocked if the Jazz MEC signs off on anything beyond BOTL, seniority order for the GGN guys on the date the agreement takes effect. Perhaps they will hold that date until they actually transfer and will be ahead of any Jazz new hires not yet on property. This isn't a merger. They can't repre...

17 year TA?

Cue the cheers about getting the beloved “jet” back. At what cost to the pilots though? A 17 year pilot contract is insane, one of the longest ever signed. I sincerely hope there’s considerable long term gains here. I understand job security is a thing, but continuing to pay your fo’s peanuts for ye...

I know that the Sky Regional Q400’s that jazz took possession of will be returned in the near future. They will be replaced by something, maybe 900’s ?
