I can tell you it is true. I had the same scenario when I started. They told me it was only good for 1 year because a cat 1 reverts to a cat 3 after a year, not a 2.

I was in the exact same situation. I phoned them I let them know the dates I'd be away and they said that would be no problem.

Including per diems in the pay. If that's the case, work at Mcdonalds. Sure it's minimum wage but if you include the employee discount and eat big macs for every meal that's like making an extra 5k a year!

During assessment they said training would be in spring. Didn't say IFR or VFR. Sounds like VFR/FSS final interviews are being done December and IFR in January.
