Re: How do I transfer my flight traning hours into my logboo

I am a student pilot with almost 70 hours flying time. I've managed to transfer some of my hours from my PTR into my logbook when there was an instructor available to show me the steps, but to make it quicker I'd rather just complete the transfer of hours from my home. Since I first started the tra...

Re: Germanwings A320 Plane Crashes in Southern France

I'm not really disputing the "suicide" theory, but all the facts aren't really there yet. The fact the guy was breathing does not mean he was not incapacitated. I don't know how the CVR could show the pilot pushed a button to start the descent . Until the FDR is found workable, that is speculation....

Terrible down the board for both Captains and F/Os. Ask yourself, do you enjoy living in your parents basement? Do you like the taste of craft dinner? Do you not have soul? Do you enjoy pulling down our industry? If you answered yes to all of these you might be a good fit. E These type of responses...

Whatever happened to the students who were part of the very first class? Are any of those flying with GGN?

Accident Search

If this is posted in the wrong place, please redirect.... A friend of mine lost her mother in a plane accident about 50 years ago. The accident happened in New Foundland and from what I can gather it was a small single engine charter. All on board were killed. Basic reports that have been filtered d...

Re: Checklists.

You need a checklist to fly a C172?? My car is more complex than a 172.... I do not know any single seat pilot that physically use a checklist before, during and after a flight. I can't talk for other communities. While a C172 checklist is significantly less complex than a 777 it should still be re...

fish4life, that's a fair statement. Everyone needs to do their homework and understand what a position with one company means vrs another company and weigh the pros and cons. Nothing is straight forward.

Re: Landing your first Airline Job

SaultStudent, If an airline is where you want to be, (even though BE20 had some very sound advice), then put your nose to the grindstone and try to win the Jazz and or Georgian award(s). I know a student who was offered a position with both companies right out of college. If you're interested, you c...

I'm glad to see that was a Westjet aircraft and not an Air Canada plane. Otherwise, the majority of members here would be calling for the Captain's head for not having the ailerons properly turned into the wind while sitting at the gate!!!!

Re: Plane forced to land sideways

Chicago is not called the Windy City because it's breezy there, it's called the Windy City because its political candidates tend to be windier than most. Look it up! OMG! Finally someone else besides me understands why Chicago is known as the windy city. No one ever believes me when I explain this ...

Re: Headset splitter - Anyone use one?

I used a similar splitter to the one noted in the OP. Worked perfectly fine for me. I only used it once mind you and that a few years back but had no issue when I did use it.

Re: Flight Instructing - questions on non standard options

Judging from your original post I would have to agree completely with Bede's comments. You have either misrepresented yourself here or you do not have a good grasp of the industry. Either way, please do what you do 9 to 5 and fly for fun on the side. Curious though, what are your long term goals and...

Re: Pay My Training Bond? Should i worry about a lawsuit?

Lots of good advise. Some poor advise (IMHO). Business is business. You made a choice to sign a contract. Now you need to abide by that very contract. If you look at your career long term this is but a small blip on your radar. Nothing wrong with speaking with your current employer to try and mitiga...

Re: Training at an uncontrolled vs controlled airport

I started my flying at a controlled airport in St, Hubert, QC (many years ago mind you). I now fly out of Burlington Airpark. I enjoy the uncontrolled atmosphere of CZBA. If I want to get some time in a controlled environment there are a few easy to reach airports close to Burlington. Another consid...

Re: External loads...canoes...any photos?

Had a friend who once picked up some hunters and they convinced him, (a low timer at the time), to strap a large portion of a moose that had been cut up to the outside of the floats. He got airborne, but barely, and after just clearing the trees at the far end of the lake he set it back down on the ...

Unbelievable....... I was blown away two days ago. A fairly tall, dark haired Captain deadheaded on a flight out of Toronto to another Canadian destination. He had an untrimmed shoddy looking week old beard, his tie was very loose, and his shirt was untucked and hanging half out. It was the most sh...

I see the right prop broke off, (assuming as a result of the landing), and went through the fuselage barely missing a female passenger. Obviously a much more serious outcome than first reported.

I assume this compass test is designed to eliminate the candidates with any moral compass who might realize they will be working for GGN and f'king over the entire industry.
