Re: The Return to Normal?
Not wearing a mask isn’t the same as murdering innocent people, like, get a grip. No, it's not like murdering someone. But if some shithead refuses to wear a mask because it hides his handsome face or whatever and because of that someone else gets sick and maybe passes that on to someone else who d...

Re: The Return to Normal?
Why are you so ready to curtail MY freedoms before you curtail yours? The odds are, you’re not going to be contributing much in the way of taxation in the next few years to pay for what has been done to protect YOU. So why don’t you help out the rest of your brethren by keeping yourself healthy and...

The good news is they are doing this early. But overall, not a good sign.....sanjet wrote: ↑Tue May 26, 2020 2:17 pm Looks like AC will issue new shares and debt to raise around a billion.

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?
I’m a long term set it and forget it investor so airline stock is not an appropriate vehicle for me. I have done ESOP in the past but immediately sell after match. It’s nice to see how much consensus there is about ESOP. Sell when you get your match. Or sell enough to get your employee contribution...

Re: Air Canada Second Trip to C.C.A.A.?
We need to stop saying “7 billion in available credit” and start saying $5 billion. Cash burn was about $600mil/month last time I checked in April. The $2 billion in pension over funding I’m sure isn’t there after the stock market tumble, but I can’t confirm that. AC has a lot of fat to burn. They c...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Took the job. I have no doubt that recalls won't happen until next year. My logic... 50% work force is left on property and Sept will 20%-25% flying from last year. So MAYBE we will get past 50% flying and need more pilots by jan maybe not. Sounds rational. If you get a solid job offer, take it!

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
As it shows right now for the August loaded schedule, it's "back to normal", at least for Sky. If that holds true across the board, recalls should be happening shortly. AC hasn’t released the winter schedule yet, usually comes out early August, so what ever you saw, we can be pretty sure it’s inacc...

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
If people start travelling again with some predicting domestic flying will ramp up first, will this mean good news for Jazz, in that they will start flying more routes than AC domestically (at least to start) ? Considering it's Air Canada pilots' flying, outsourcing to a third party, it would be in...

Re: TSX: CHR, AC, EIF, ONEX
That’s awesome. I looked at thier quarterly results they just posted. Sounds like they are handling COVID well, even tho they cut thier dividend. I’m putting together a small aviation portfolio, Exchange income, Chorus and CAE will make the bulk of it with minority positions in AC and Onex... and I...

Re: TSX: CHR, AC, EIF, ONEX
CAE is a great company, and I believe they also have some interesting things in the works for future military training. The already have the YMJ contract that they got from Bombardier. That’s awesome. I looked at thier quarterly results they just posted. Sounds like they are handling COVID well, ev...

Re: TSX: CHR, AC, EIF, ONEX
I imagine Chorus aviation will fail to exist in the next 12 months.. AC could be too large to fail but Chorus is easily replaceable by any 704-705 currently in existence. Mind you, you did say a small portfolio... [/quote] What that article failed to mention is that chorus doesn’t get paid on the am...

Re: TSX: CHR, AC, EIF, ONEX
I’m starting to think that CAE might be the best way to play the Canadian aviation sector. Pilot training should recover before the airlines do? Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Another major point that I think needs to be highlighted by the airlines, is that (as far as I have been able to find) is that there were no "super spreader" events that came from air travel. So even before the masks, it simply was not a major point of spread. You can’t possibly be serious. How do ...

Re: TSX: CHR, AC, EIF, ONEX
I did well with WJ before the ONEX purchase. If ONEX paid a higher dividend, I'd probably let some pesos ride with them. I worked at an EIF company years ago and made enough in my RRSP from contributions/dividends for the first time home buyers plan and subsequently sold most of my shares. I have A...

Re: TSX: CHR, AC, EIF, ONEX
I wouldn't be putting my money in airline stock of any sort right now. Yes, AC has been going up and down in big swings, so people have been making money. I'm not really into day trading. I look at what I can invest in long term. When the second wave of the virus comes, airline stocks are going to ...

Re: King of the Hill
None sense. I’ve made plenty of money from discounted company shares at the airlines I’ve worked at. I always recommend people partake in ESOP. Not only is it free money, but all employees should also be owners in the company they work for. ESOP allows us proletariat to benefit from the means of ou...

Alright my airline friends, I know you all have opinions about this, time to let it out!
Who’s going broke, who’s going to struggle, who will take all in the post virus afterscape. If you had $1,000,000 to place on one of them, who would you pick? And GO
CHR?
AC?
ONEX?
EIF?

Re: Best guess when recalls could happen
Seems somewhat correct, although there are a few errors there. For starters, Jazz doesn't have any CRJ-100s, but they have CRJ-200s. Also, that list shows no "Future" CRJ-900s. There are in fact 9 CRJ-900s that are to be delivered to Jazz (supposed to be 2020 but will be delayed). But to answer your...
