Re: Sault? Confed?
Originally, I would rather go to Confed due to the fact that they their program includes flight training on the first semester but I've also heard numerous bad reviews about the program Can you elaborate on what you've heard? As a graduate of the program some years ago, I'm interested to hear what ...

Re: Logbook Question
Sorry for bringing this topic up again. Just purchased a Jepp logbook and noticed that their are no names for the PIC and Co-Pilot. Was wondering if we legally require the names? The CARs say you just need to tell who the PIC during the flight was but does that include showing your name or just writ...

Re: Confederation College, Thunder Bay
Not sure about now, but back in the day they washed out 2/3rd's of the class after first year! A few were lacking the skill to fly but aced the accounting programs and were kept in, if you flubbed the accounting classes you got the boot no matter what. Still couldn't figure out why you needed all t...

Re: Confederation College, Thunder Bay
I heard Confed is getting rid of floats/skis and doing IFR training instead. Is this true? They're not completely getting rid of float/skis. In the upcoming years they're transitioning to something more similar to Algonquin college. Where student have to choose between either the group 3 or the flo...

Re: Another CMA Thread
I worked there about a year ago. The minimum requirements for a low-timer were a multi-IFR, IATRA, and 250hrs TT. I'd say there's many much better places to go for a low-timer than Alberta at the moment. Thanks for the response. I'm assuming you were based at Calgary? If you don't mind me asking, d...

Nothing too relevant though especially with the new shift in the industry. Thought someone could shed some more recent light at the current s...

Air Georgian Mentorship Program
Hey guys, So I've been looking around on this site and around the inter webs in regards to this program Air Georgian offers or had offered. I asked the CFI from the college that I am graduating from and he said he had no recollection of this agreement the college and Air Georgian had. Essentially I'...

Re: Out of Province student applying to Sault/Confederation
Hey AVCANADA,
So I finally got a letter from my first choice college, Confed, and was put on the top 20 for the waiting list. I'm pretty hopeful but then again you never know. Anyways I was just wondering if their was any Confed grads who had more info on the program.

Re: Out of Province student applying to Sault/Confederation
Hey guys, Just an update. I just received a letter in the mail from Sault saying that I am on the wait list. They also told me where I am, spot 34, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to get in, even though I'm the 34th spot. I called Sault awhile back ago about the waiting list and they said that some...

Re: Out of Province student applying to Sault/Confederation
Re +RA You know, I think that's the same thing they had said to me. When I called them the first time they had said that grades would be considered priority, I did not know which department I spoke to that time. But when I called admissions they specifically said they send more offers then seats to ...

IMO I feel I have the grades, but when I spoke to them they had said that preference is given to Ontario residents. Confed is my first choice, it's just I really hope that when they consider me, who may have better grades, then the guy from Ontario, they would choose me over him. All aside thanks fo...
