My educated guess would be no bid for August. Only backfill.
IMHO, I believe there will be a bid. Maybe not many new awards, but definitely a clean up of the Jan bid wrt Air Georgian integration.

Re: ATPL as a requirement

I understand the need to win the race to the bottom and secure that seniority number as early as you can, but my advice to you is get your ATPL done, or at the very very least, get your ATPL PIC requirement before applying to a 705 operation. Eventually, you will understand what I mean and offer the...

Knowing what I know now, I just can't see myself boarding a plane without a pilot. I trust the flawed human way more than the supposedly triply-redundant ultra-fail-safe computers.

Re: Jazz or Porter (in terms of commuting out of yul) ?

YUL Based Jazz pilot here. Based on your criteria, this is a no brainer, Jazz 100%. Jazz has a YUL base, Porter does not. More commuting options (vs relying solely on jumpseating) Jazz has a mobility agreement with AC which pretty much guarantees you will watch a lot of folks flow before you if you ...

Re: Hanging your hat at Jazz?

Still on the fence because I have not been at Jazz long.

I am considering AC because eventually, AC would yield better wages and more options. That being said, I am really enjoying Jazz at the moment and when decision time comes, it will be a hard choice.

Re: Jazz or Sunwing ?

AC pilots are the lowest paid mainline pilots in North America with by far the lowest year 1-4 non CA pay. What are your thoughts on that? I don't see how that's comparable in any way, considering that work isn't being shifted to whatever airline pays the least. If that were the case, though, by yo...

Serves you right. You sold off the next generation of pilots purely in the hope of getting an AC seat that would have gotten anyways. Enjoys those C4 passes and having AC rampies bump you to the back of the slave ship when you’re deadheading. Why are you angry with the pilots. Its management who ar...

Re: New hire bids

I really don't think there will DEC hiring in 2020.....you never know and I could be wrong, but there are a lot of qualified FO's who have their AA's and are waiting in the weeds. Plus there will be some Captains reduced out of their seats in YVR and YYC who may decide to commute to YYZ and YUL to ...

It also added some difficult formula to YOS for those hired after jan 2015 and a couple of scheduling/credit changes.
What?

YOS -2 = captain starting pay. Anniversary on date of hire.

Corrected number - 203 pilots from GGN signed up for Jazz and will be participating in Bid 2019-01. The instruction is embedded in our COM. When I did my line indoc there as a YUL commuter, it's actually a flight attendant who showed me how to do it. Well not showed personally but I keenly observed her technique which is this: Take your RAIC or any piece of official looking photo ID, hold it with ...

Re: Chorus/Ggn/Sky merge

It's obvious that AC was looking to secure labor stability in the regional network until 2035. Had Jazz turned it down, they would have kept shopping around until they got it, whether it be with Jazz, Sky, GGN?, or any other player existing or they could whip up (it's been done before. Now that play...
