Re: Timing the cycle
You just need to ask yourself. Has management or any office staff for that matter taken a pay cut or reduced their raises in a down turn, slower economic growth or to “capture the flying”? We all know the answer to that question and the pilot group has had ENOUGH which is why I’m confident this time...

Re: “I compete in Canada, so I need to be competitive in Canada,” - Mike Rosseau
Mike really needs to Understand that this will not end well for him or AC. There is NO appetite in the pilot group for compromise or concessions. There is NO appetite for back to work legislation or threats. Most AC pilots I know have said “go ahead, try to make me come into work”. It won’t happen. ...

Re: Negotiations
Step 1....stop all voluntary overtime! Scroll up for a link I poster earlier. This is still considered an “unlawful strike” Only if it is organized. Or if people are shamed or any other tactic is used to stop people from picking up overtime. But if it is an individuals personal choice... "I'm an ar...

Re: ALPA Petition
The merger rumour is a red herring being thrown around to spook people into staying with ACPA.
Any merger REGARDLESS of union similarities or differences will be negotiated, mediated and/or arbitrated. Anything else is just right ignorance of labour law.

Re: ALPA Petition
I’m not sure why you are so offended that some people want to understand the full scope of a potential merger deal including what will happen to ACPAs healthy cash reserves before jumping into the idea head first. I think the other posters assertion that we will definitely get a return on our consi...

Re: Negotiations
Any pilot wage increases are not coming from Jazz but AC. AC wanted bargain basement CPA costs and forced it onto Jazz through a co-ordinated and methodical plan. Now they’re reaping what they sowed. Jazz’s CPA income and profit margins are not roomy enough for a large raise. AC is gonna have to po...

Re: ALPA Petition
I am genuinely curious as to what it is that AC pilots figure ALPA will do for them? Like ACPA, ALPA is run by the pilots. The folks running ACPA could easily run for the LEC, MEC and be voted in and quite frankly do the same stuff. What shallow thinking. Its the structure of ACPA that has been a t...

This may be the first recession where everyone has a job and people still want to go places. Maybe less business travel but definitely on vacation.

Re: Why do AC Pilots ALWAYS take concessions?
I'm following along this saga while debating getting into aviation myself but I have to ask: Why do AC Pilots always take concessions? Seems like the one consistent thing from that pilot group Consistent Concessions What gives? Do they not see the pilot shortage? I literally have my pick of jobs ou...

Re: Easiest "No" Vote to Come to this pilot group to date
When looking at an ACPA/AC MOA or TA one has to always think what does the company have planned? The pilot group signed a 10 year deal with locked in raises of only 2% and than had the company achieve record flying and record profits. AC had to get PERMANENT 10% less wages to make the cargo division...

Re: Easiest "No" Vote to Come to this pilot group to date
P4C has been very clear that they want to leave ACPA and join ALPA. That is what is motivating them and driving their decisions. The AC pilots on the other hand have been very clear that they want pay raises not the distraction of a union drive. Obviously this MOA would be bad news for P4C as it sh...

Re: Covid deaths still high, why is Biden calling the pandemic over?
Globally more people die YEARLY from malnutrition and starvation than did throughout this entire pandemic. We’ve had the “skills and expertise” to solve the global food crisis for decades. That’s only 1 example of the many problems that our world faces that are within our reach to solve but has no p...

Re: Jazz & AC YOW Overnights
AC has many crews that overnight in YOW and I believe Jazz does too. Usually it’s the narrow body crews like the A220, A320 and the Max.
You can request YOW layovers for sure on your monthly bid.

Re: ALPA is not the answer, current ACPA isn't either
And ACPA has long been neutered. Those balls aren't growing back... There were hints with JMB & Strach, but it's long gone now. ACPA is a systemic cuck. You mention The Ratt. The FOS imposed by Raitt was illegal, rightfully ACPA launched a charter challenge at the time and precedent showed we would...

Re: ALPA is not the answer, current ACPA isn't either
The big take away I got from this article aside from the big pay bump AND the obvious market force differences is the fact that ALPA’s interests lie in the pilot groups. They represent the pilots for the pilots. ACPA’s priorities in my opinion (and in the opinion of a growing many others) have been ...

Just gonna leave this here….
