Re: Flair Hiring B737 FO's
Have they already sent out offers for the Feb groundschools? Is there anyone that could share what the rosters are looking like for the newer hires at the company? Are they reasonably efficient, Can you get any days off you request (are you working every weekend), is there much reserve, how many day...

Re: WestJet might as well rebrand itself as Canadian
Business people still won't fly WJ. I know I won't. That is unless they change their FA training to be more professional and less "jokey" along with the pilots PAs. Just cause there is a J class now means jack shot if no companies will fly with them. Too many people are long committed to the Aeropl...

I think they brought it back recently, a quick presentation of a generic topic.

Re: US Regional Hiring Australian Pilots
In the past few months, I know of quite a few part 121s hiring Canadians as well, and taking care of their visas. They’re getting pretty desperate. Good way to end up in one of the majors there though, do a couple of years at a regional like Skywest or endeavour and go from there. What companies ar...

Re: Captain Upgrade Times
That seems counter productive especially since they need captains. But anyway, what is this calendar time duration? I've not seen or heard of it before It’s a new thing based on experience you come here with. It ranges. Bottom end, 1500 hours when you join, 1750 hours on type, or 24 calendar months...

Re: Typical Day
How many sectors do Encore pilots fly on a typical pairing? Lots, when you want to relax and the weather is bad, little, when you’re trying to get those hours up . It’s terrifying that pilots of a Q400 are trying to build time. Slightly true. Upgrade is based on matrix. So people with a bun...

Re: Captain Upgrade Times
Can anyone tell me with certainty how the upgrade matrix actually works? Is it by time on type or are you stuck to whatever it says on the opposite side of your TT when you join the company? Meaning if I join with 2000TT, no Q time, once I have 1000 hours on type & 3000TT, can I upgrade then or wil...

Re: How to Really Please Your Flight Instructor
1) Have lots of money and be ready to spend it. Your instructor probably just spend 50k to get their CPL and Instructor Rating, they need to start paying off their loans now, so be ready to spend all your hard earned money so they can see a small fraction of it. 2) Practice good personal hygiene. Y...

Re: Wasaya 'apprentice pilot'
I just got a first job offer at Wasaya as an apprentice pilot. Which means ramp and they say I'll do some flying. 3 month commitment as an apprentice and than move on to 100% flying. Any solid opinions on that ? Apprentice pilot is not a thing, if you haven’t figured that out already. They are just...

Re: Pilot shortage “slowing down “
I think if the little guys could trust the pilots staying longer than 6 months they might be able to pay more. Last ad our company put out netted rezis with most pilots on their 3-4 job in less than three years (all of which had type ratings...). If a pilot applied to me for a job and they had a hi...

Re: DEC posting
Yes, it’s commonly referred to as their matrix, so if you joined with 2000TT, by the time you have 1000 on type you would meet the 3000 to 1000 matrix. At least, that’s my interpretation. This is correct. It’s actually not too confusing. They just want you to have a certain amount of dash/705 time ...

Re: WestJet pilots to fly Swoop aircraft
What if Swoop was only started to make you think you've won something by getting to crew it and forgetting about everything else? Everyone's patting themselves on the back for achieving the 'first thing on the list' but what have you actually gained in terms of salary or working conditions? So what...

Re: US CBP Landing Rights
be careful with that one. theres a lot of airports that are "landing rights" not international airports and depending on the port they want 24 hours notice. Just by luck I happened to call SYR to figure out where they wanted me to go (some are at any FBO some are at their own building) and she said...

Re: US CBP Landing Rights
I always call. The manifest only submits the data, but the call is where they're going to tell you if theres any issues with you or your passengers. plus it seems at a lot of ports they need to either send someone from another port (land or sea or int'l airport) or they just dont check the manifest...
