Re: Dear YKF flight instructors

Coming from working both as a Flight instructor and as a captain on a king air and other multi engine aircraft, SIMPLIFY CHECKLISTS! Flows are better because they teach efficiency and its easier for student to learn what will be expected out on the line working for carriers. Flows then checklists......

Re: the magic of a shirt and tie

We'll try this again. AvCanada keeps kicking me off every time I hit submit. If you're travelling for work, you're allowed certain things, that would be required to do your job... Including extra liquids, even something like a Swiss Army knife, if they believe you need it for work. At least it's a ...

Re: Caravan Opportunities in Canada

Thunder Air Operates a Caravan out of Timmins Ontario that does lots of Coastal milk runs
and then you also have a solid Van operator out of Fort Mack for Fort McMurray Aviation...They have 206 and 208's with some on floats...
Its could be a good starting point...

Good Luck

I also have above the time they want and along with Contrail yet I received no phone call...
weird...
If they have a sim eval they want to just test your skills...Air Transat has one too...

If anyone has details on the selection process please shed some light

Cheers

Re: Which ratings must be taught by an instructor

Just for the record guys I hope you remember, Does not mean because its LEGAL that it is SAFE! So although the CARs says often you need a minimum of this many hours for a certain rating its always better to be with someone who knows what they're doing. Too many differences between one person to the ...

Re: Which ratings must be taught by an instructor

I agree, I am an instructor... When it comes to a 'Class' Rating then the person providing training must hold a CPL and have 50hrs on class and 10h on type. There are no PIC requirements. here is the reference. I took the time to remove irrelevant info... Read through... Pay close attention to the I...

Re: ~ Sky Regional 2014 ~

I would actually like to see a forum where someone is not bashing a company. I am wondering if Sky Regional has any FO openings. And just for the fun of it, anyone know what a type rating on a Q400 costs? (not that I am planning to pay for it myself) I would like to work for SKy Regional If I could ...

Rick, I realize it isn't personal and never took it personally, although I do tend to get a little passionate about some debates. A seasonal job works for me as lifestyle is much more important than hours in my logbook. I make enough money during the season to live comfortably year round, in a plac...

Re: Air Georgian

The point wasn't my decision to collect or not collect EI, the point was that EI pays better than this amazing flying job you are talking about. If you want to have a dick measuring contest over wages lets do it via pm, I'd be willing to bet I make more in the 7-8 months I do work than you do in a ...

Ok so you would prefer to do nothing for peanuts then work for it. Hey guys I am reading your posts and having been instructing for 5 yrs + and working for various 703 operators I can actually say that if you are making anywhere above 32k as a FO, you're on a great start. Either way from what I understand you could end up making up to 70K as a BE20 captain and then...

I understand what X-savior is saying... When it's your first job in the industry and you're not told what you could improve on, then it sucks for the individual. I was not told it was... but if it was for incompetency, I had not done anything of such and that should be underlined and explained so th...
