What flight school do you go to dude ?!!! You got the basic hours required for a CPL license (the 35 hours dual) so I would imagine you are up to CPL standards, make sure no one is taking you for a ride and milking your wallet. You CAN hold a CAT 1 even if you are diabetic, you would just have to have it under control.

You need 100 hrs of night PIC to get your ATPL. You might not get much when you instruct. You won't get any flying floats or working the ramp. And you won't get any working as a copilot. Therefore, get as much as you can now. Actually this opens up another subject, What if you had an engine failure...

I had the same problem when I first started my training, basically hold your best rate of climb and you should be ok ... if you are still short a couple hundred feet just climb while turning on your downwind leg (wider turn)..It worked for me .
