Some of those videos were pretty cool. Those waterbomber guys look like they'd be right at home in a dogfight. And the night-spraying...wow. I'm sitting here saying "whoa", "holy crap", "no way" and "nice" to all of it, out loud, by myself. All in all, looks like a blast.

A quick add-on to things to consider when step-taxiing...do you know exactly where you're going and what exactly is 1 inch - 3 feet below the surface of the water and where exactly that sandbar or outcrop of rocks is?

My opinion in regards to step-taxiing...Some lakes/rivers have only one approach/departure route, and you cannot always take off exactly from where you've dropped off or picked up your passengers/freight. Or maybe you have to taxi to the other side of the lake after dropping off your charter, to a f...

For some reason I got an image of M*A*S*H and hawaiian shirts. Hockey for winter, golf for summer, beer for days that end with a "y". Fishing is always a good staple. As previously said, all depends on where you're lucky (or unlucky) enough to be. Satellite dishes seem to outnumber people. The best ...

The Beech 18 on floats is on my list of planes to fly. I've heard it nicknamed "The Widowmaker", but I've never asked why. Anyone shed some light on this for me?

STL...was just joking. Not a funny one I guess  . It's supposed to be "bag full of shhhh", as in hush up, not bag of sh*t. You jokingly put me in my place in an earlier post about a "comfortable place to sleep" and I was just beating you to punch this time :) . And the rest of what you said, t...

STL...touche. Nothing like the heat from a wood stove though. Cat Driver and others...I guess I should qualify what I mean. It's just a pet-peeve of mine when a person crawls out a nice comfy bed (stl, I got a whole bag of shhh with your name on it, lol) and goes flying for the day in an immaculate ...

I don't believe that flying in the bush automatically makes you a bush pilot. I think the real "bush pilot" died a long time ago. I'm not saying that we don't fly in some tough places, with crappy weather, no wx reports, changing runways (waves, snowdrifts, gravelbars, etc), but let's be real. For t...

Check out http://www.southnahanniairways.com/ for more recent pictures. They're still of AKM, but it's the right colour scheme.
