Re: Negotiations

It isn’t, it's experience dealing with a vengeful spiteful company, with a mainline group that has eagerly thrown us under the bus multiple times in the past. Not sure how long you've been around truedude, but thown under the bus goes both ways. If AC came to you tomorrow and said they would give y...

Re: Negotiations

Air Canada pilots said no to an MOA about 9-12 months ago. No second offer was presented at the table. Different circumstances but still worth mentioning.

Re: Negotiations

Funny how ALPA is seen as the messi at mainline. Hasn't produced anything really tangible since 2015 at Jazz..

Re: Negotiations

Why seemingly nothing is being done to mitigate this is a mystery. Maybe head office just doesn't have any ideas other than to hold on, and let 'er buck? That is not sustainable. CHR has obligations under the (current) CPA. Perhaps the terms of that CPA are going to change. Somethig is brewing. PAL...

Re: AC Pilots leaving to the US?

I'd say it's the first time we are seeing over 10 resignations in a 3 month timeframe in the bottom half of the seniority list. Things are slowly moving but it is moving for sure. There's no denial that some ac pilots are moving to the US.

Re: Latest MEC Bulletin

One of the biggest threat to Jazz, and in turn AC, is if Porter opens up a YUL base. A few ex sky YUL 175 drivers made the switch, but were all east costers with no particular ties to the QC province, the Qcers all stayed. Now if Porter opens up a YUL base now all the YUL base 175 skippers will appl...

Re: Is Flow to AC over?

They have no reason to honour the 60% agreement. Why would they? It’s in their best interest to take pilots from the competition and keep you at Jazz making peanuts. Are any of you AC hopefuls going to call them out on it? They could make flat pay 35k a year and most of you would be jumping over ea...

Re: Negotiations

We will see what will happen soon enough. Four way meetings apparently scheduled between AC, JAZZ, ACPA and ALPA in the next couple of weeks... Finally…… hope that it is an adult conversation. Employers will pay more. Unions will (hopefully) address mobility logistics. Status quo will not work for ...

Re: ALPA Petition

IACP did it. FPA did it. Still waiting to see if APA is going to do it. It isn’t rocket science and the template is not hard to find. The problem with being told that you are ‘special’ all of the time is that you actually start to believe that you are special. Rudder, I hear you. But this isn't abo...

Re: Overtime

Simply because seniority rules at AC Ash, its the FOMO. 'If I don't do it now, and piss on the industry, I'll miss 1000 spots, and be on reserve until I'm 64'. You will always find guys too that will honestly tell you that, had they said yes in 2012, would be #2200 out of 4500 working 12 days a mon...

Re: The Air Canada OTS thread

I was 3 months from updating my resume and references doing their thing. They hire in waves from different companies and regimes however, I was told I was in the "to call" pile about 2 months prior to getting the email. Have you heard back? I actually declined. After weighing all the pros and cons,...

Re: AC-JAZZ ALPA merger?

Jazz guys being called up to AC these days. The open time is going bananas with all the block being dropped in open time. The status quo can't last for that much longer. Planes will be parked and flights cancelled. Every base has almost 10-15 lines of CA open time flying.... Me thinks Xmas time wil...

Re: Flow through to AC

It honestly boggles my mind that AC hasn't jumped at the opportunity yet. 900 vacancies and I'm sure the Oct bid will be even more. Perhaps that's why it was delayed? If they're talking with ACPA right now why show a massive bid with even more vacancies while you're probably trying to get more conc...
