More public lobbying against improvements to Flight and Duty times.

ATAC and their good friend Dr. Ashley Nunes strike again. Another article against improving flight and duty times masquerading as an oppinion piece. I’ve been watching his work for awhile. Funny how nothing aimed at improving the safety and working conditions in Canadian aviation....be it Unions or ...

This didn't take long.....

http://m.gulfnews.com/business/aviation/air-canada-to-start-flights-to-dubai-next-month-1.1605499 I love the arrogant presumption that our new Government should be concerned with the "requirements" of his carriers. I sincerely hope that whomever our new Minister of Transport is, that he or she is mo...

Re: Globe & Mail on the future of Pilots

It's always been my personal belief that Wendy Mesley is one of the most unbalanced and sensationalistic reporters at the CBC.....and that's saying something these days. The CBC video that Timel posted a link to was one of the most perversely unbalanced 5 min of "news" I have watched in a long while...

Globe & Mail on the future of Pilots

If you're in the mood to make a perfectly lousy week in Aviation even worse, then might I suggest surfing on over to the Globe & Mail's website and checking out Paul Koring's wonderful new article titled: AVIATION IS FAST APPROACHING THE POST PILOT ERA http://www.theglobeandmail.com/news/world/exper...

Re: Air Canada Pool

Yes I was paying attention....close attention. The devil is in the details and you may have missed it. While technically the top up cheques will flow from a Jazz account, the money to fund that account is being transferred from AC to Jazz as part of the new CPA. Watch the webinar, this came right fr...

Re: Porter and the CSeries

I fear this may be a case of history repeating itself.

This reminds reminds me an awful lot of Wardair's expansion plans in the late '80s.

I hate to say it but, I think Bean's assessment of the situation over on the AEForum is unfortunately the most likely scenario.

I'm aware of the definition of reciprocal......

Rest assured if for some reason there was to be no reciprocity come this spring, I would be the first one screaming about it......followed by about 150 others who would be direclty affected.

Re: HELP! Telex 850ANR Versus Seinnheiser HMEC 46 ANR for B7

The 850 does not work well in the NG. I tried one for a couple weeks and was dissapointed. It had a lot of faint but annoying static and backgound noise caused by the ANR. When I returned it to the shop the nice fellow behind the counter asked me what type I flew. When I told him it was the NG he re...

Re: Jazz pilots contract?

Why would I go after the company? Its not their fault.I challenge the self proclaimed " PROFESSIONAL PILOT ". Where does this designation come from anyways? I thought they just get a license like I have for my auto. I am sure there is somebody ready and willing to educate me on that as well. Look t...

I'll play along,

5 Bucks on Westjet buying Sunwing.

The vacation & tour company infrastructure they want, along with brand new, fresh off the line airplanes that fit into their existing fleet.

Re: Feet on the floor or on the rudders

I guess it depends on personal preference/comfort. From my perspective I have to disagree with KAG, I think the rudder pedal design in the NG is terrible compared to other Boeings. (Not to mention the seat, but that's another thread in itself.....) I find the pedals far to vertical. It's difficult f...

I don't get paid extra to bust minimums, and I've never met a Pilot who does. The paycheque is the same wether you follow the rules or act like an idiot. Only difference with the latter is that you may end up in front of an un-friendly tribunal, suspended, fired......or dead along with your passenge...
