Re: Air Canada jazz pilots hours
I wanted to start a general thread regarding this. So here we go: Joe is a recent graduate from Waterloo's (or Western's, or whoever's) university flight training program. He has about 250TT and whatever graduates come out from there with. He's chasing the big tin, and hes willing to work in the US...

Nope, I'm just looking into applying to either them or Porter.
BTW, they don't post their minimums on their application website. Anyone have any idea what they are?
(I'm sure I fulfill them, but I just want to make sure)
Thanks,

Re: Air Canada jazz pilots hours
If you're only interested in flying a jet, you're being severely narrow-minded. I fly the Dash and have a much better quality of life than people with the same seniority on the Q or RJ. I got a week of vacation each month from May through August, can hold Christmas and New Years off and get most of...

What kind of pairings tend to be more popular, which ones less (trying to gauge what a new hire on the Dash would get)?

Re: Air Canada jazz pilots hours
I realize that, but I kind of see Jazz as a long-term thing. I have qualms about flying long-term at Sky, and lets not bring up GGN.

When do you think the backlog will be cleared by (assuming the AC contract is renewed in 2020 and there is minimal or no growth)?

Can someone give typical pairings for YYZ based Dash and RJ?
Also, for the YYZ RJ, how much time would one fly on the 100/200 vs 705?

Howbout QOL overseas? If you work for an overseas carrier, could you tell us about: -Pay -Schdule/Pairings/Destinations -Benifits -Locations (pros and cons) -Commuting (and the plausibility of living in Canada and commuting to your base in, say, Dubai or Shanghai) -How you got the job -Anything else...

What aircraft would a new hire operate on. Do all new pilots go to the Embraer or is it like at Jazz (they get whatever is open, Dash or CRJ)?
And how long is the wait to 777 FO and 777 CA?

Thanks for the replies
If you commute in the jumpseat from, say, YUL to YYZ, what is the financial cost.
Also, can AC pilots ride in Jazz/Sky/GGN/EVAS jumpseats?

I notice that much of the info regarding AC pilot travel dates to pre-2012.
Does anyone have info on how commuting and employee travel works and how much it costs?
Thanks,

Hi everyone, If you visit ..com, you'll notice the site is down. This is rather unfortunate, as it was a great place to get rough (correction: very rough) information on pilot pay scales and benefits at various operators. It also also averted countless double-posts here on AvCanada. As this resource...
