Re: Can you pay your way to air canada

Out of curiosity, suppose after finishing your CPL and you or your parents are very rich, can you just rent a plane and fly around to build enough hours until you're competitive for air canada. Would this be looked down upon? Yes, you could get the theoretical requirements for AC by doing this. No,...

Re: Classic Dash replacement??

I would imagine so. The Q can do pretty much every classic route out of YYZ except for Sarnia maybe. I would think the remaining -300s would do some flying out of YVR the Q can't get into and some YUL stuff to the smaller places in Kaybec that wouldn't be viable in a 78 seat aircraft. Just my guess...

Re: Air Georgian wheel falls off on take off - YYZ

I'm no fan of GGN, but words like classic ggn or abysmal shape seems to me those forgotten AC had a tyre fall off in April 2017 http://nationalpost.com/news/air-canada-pilot-doesnt-notice-as-wheel-snaps-during-take-off-manages-miracle-landing-in-england Classic Air Canada? Abysmal shape those 330s ...

Personally knowing the individual involved, I can’t say I’m surprised this occurred... I can however say I am very happy and thankful this didn’t turn out worse

Re: Video Interview

I have my sim coming up soon. Do you have an in person interview before sim? For the sim evaluation they use dash or rj? No in person interview. They do just the Webcam/Phone interview. My sim was in YYZ at Seneca using a King Air 200 Sim. NO GPS/FMS. They will give you a routing and a sheet with p...

Had my medical the next day (booked at same time as interview). Got the sim call the day after the medical.

Got the groundschool call 2 days after sim.
Was this recently?

Yes, beginning of June

Medical exam, reference check, crim background check were done between interview and Sim.

Phone call for the sim was roughly 2 weeks after video interview.

Thanks for info!

Seymour Arm Airstrip BC

Does anyone have any info on the decommissioned grass airstrip at Seymour Arm? The only info I can find is that it is 1 KM (3200' appx) long and from the looks of a youtube vido, not too wide. Just wondering if any one has experience there or knows the approximate width? I would inspect it from the ...

YEG / Alberta Multi Block Time

I know this is a long shot but I'm looking to buy some block time on a multi engine aircraft in the YEG Area but will go anywhere in AB. I am an experienced pilot and have flown a variety of twins. I need to get some more hours for a conditional offer. PM me and I'll provide my details and experience.

Re: Hi-res 3-view of a Cessna 172

Try searching google for the C172 POH in .pdf format

From there you can use the 3-view drawing that they have in there. If its a true PDF and not a scan then it should be vectored.
