Licence Number
So I'm interested in getting an Aviation themed tattoo and I'd like to have my licence number involved. My question is does that number ever expire? I'd hate to get it tattooed on me only to end up with a different one in 5 years

Re: Ecigs in checked baggage can be a hazard to your health.
Ecigs in checked baggage can be a hazard to your health. Or better: Ecigs can be a hazard to your health. What's hazardous about flavor nicotine and glycol (used in inhalers)? And the only reason these started fires was from sheer stupidity, you can either remove the battery on most devices or use ...

Re: Prospects for under-500-hour wonders...
I have heard of another operator in Red Deer that operates mainly 500's that also gets their low time ground guys flying. This is a good option IF and only IF - You don't mind being sent for days off in the spring and never called back because the season ended, nobody told you and everyone took tim...

Re: Advice/Info for newbies
Since you're working Pipeline you're familiar with the obsessive safety culture that comes with Oil and gas. This translates over into their helicopter contracts, most operators require 700 hours min. to be a pilot operator and some contracts are as high as 4000 hours. I finished my licence a few mo...

Converting CPLH to CPLA
Let's say a guy has a Commercial Helicopter licence, a Glider Pilots licence and a Private fixed wing licence, does anyone know what it would take to convert the CPLH to include fixed wing? I was reading about the time credits for each and I was curious how many hours I would need to do this? Not su...

Re: Springbank Airport Noise Committee Needs Your Help
This reminds me of Grande Cache back in 2003ish, just north of the main hiway running through town, up on a hill Pacific western had a hangar where they were running Jetrangers, As350's 212's and 205's out of for several years. Things started picking up in town and somebody decided to build a new ho...
