Tell me about it. Frustrating to read about yet another runway incursion in YYZ, and knowing there is something that could be put in place to reduce the risk of occurrence.PostmasterGeneral wrote:Canada is generally 10-15 years behind in any sort of technological advances.

Runway Status Lights in Canada
Does anyone know if any Canadian airports are considering or planning to get RWSL systems? http://code7700.com/runway_status_lights.htm The feedback I have heard from US Controllers is that the system is amazing, and really helps with controller workload. The FAA is rolling it out at most major US a...

Re: YWG process
I don't know if it has changed, but the YWG ACC is probably the absolute worst for IFR in Canada. Lot of cliques, OT shenanigans, etc. In 08-12 the checkout rate was below 5% and that only counted trainees that made it to the floor, not even the ones who were cease-trained in the course/sector-speci...

Re: Westjet Ordering Dreamliners
Getting back to business, I am genuinely curious about what the rank and file think about WestJet departing the original Southwest business model. (after all Southwest shows no desire to change their business model) The US Market has demand on routes that the Canadian market doesn't seem to have. S...

So for 7F, did they lose a chief pilot on their ATRs recently? I saw the job posting a few days ago.

Re: Canadian North taking over Suncor Flight Department
The real problems for the oil company using airplanes isn't cost as much as reliability and consistent standards. The real problem is that the Oil Companies don't understand weather and aviation law. I've dealt with an angry VP of some sort or another everytime it fogs in in the oilsands. It's very...

Probably because being a pilot in canada, at least starting out, is an exercise in debt and frustration.AWOS wrote:I'd be willing to bet that there are a lot less Canadian students working on their CPL today than as little as three years ago. Re: Malaysian plane shot down, crashes in Ukraine
We had plant wrong intel in the past on which major wars were waged Planting intel and false flags is different from a war crime. The USS Vincennes shot down an Iranian airliner, but at least the US admitted they did it, while not admitting legal responsibility, unlike the russian supported rebels ...

Good observation my friend, too bad many people don't see the truth....We are being served the news and "facts" based on b.s. :) FDRs track systems operational status. There's a very distinct failure pattern that can be traced by seeing which systems failed (location) and when (timeframe). A missil...

Good to hear that they were rescued relatively intact.

From what I heard, something caught on fire, and there was smoke. Foam was applied.
