Re: Edmonton Airport Site Sits Empty
Good thing Alberta Health has that massive new facility at YEG. People would probably die taking as long to get from Leduc to Edmonton as they did from BFN to YEG. if its that bad they can send out STARS to take them to the U of A... most flights down are appointments and hang nails really. I've se...

Re: Corporate Question
Most corporate operators only fly 200-400 hrs per year. At that rate you may find yourself in the right seat for many years. And since this isn’t the airline world, they can and will hire direct entry captains ahead of you. Better to come to this side of the industry with some solid PIC time. Just ...

Corporate Question
Hey guys, Have a question for you. I'm looking on making the shift from 703 to corporate. Though I have a few questions on the path that I should take. Now, I'm a 2000hr pilot with 300hrs PIC on a Caravan and ATPL however my multicrew/MIFR experience is very limited. Now I know that I make some of t...

Tango Airway Question
Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows the width (with sources) of a Tango airway? I know VORs are 4nm and ADF of 4.34nm. I can't seem to find anything on the protected area on the tango airway.
Thanks!

Re: Good IFR study materials
Thanks guys this is great! Would it be worth it to buy the online ground school or self study? I guess its not needed and would come down to study habits of the individual. I assume as long as i'm following the TC IFR study guide and the references you all mentioned I could probably hold off on the ...

Good IFR study materials
Hey guys, I've tried to do some research on this, and it is definitely all opinion based... However, what have you found to be the best resource to study for IFR. I have the weather manuals and the IPM. I wanted to do Aerocourse but sadly it's not in Edmonton until March and I don't want to wait tha...

Pa-28 180 with Constant speed prop questions
Hey guys, I've been searching for some information on the C/S mod for the pa-28 180. I've been doing some training on the Cherokee, and the POH that is supplied, doesnt have any performance information with the C/S. Does anyone have or know of where I could get the charts for this mod? I have the W/...

Private operators question
Hey guys, Unsure who to ask, or who to look to for help, but heres the scenario. I know a family friend that wants to purchase a twin turbine a/c. Maybe a C90 or a Cheyenne, or even maybe a Phenom 100. He wants to use it personally, but have his company own it but have myself and another pilot fly i...

Re: Diversion Question
GPS should only be there for situational awareness for VFR pilots. Don't rely on something that can fail. Philosophies like this are quite stunning when you think about it. The Wright brothers didn't have any instruments at all. They sure as heck didn't have any gyro stabilized heading indicators. ...

Re: Diversion Question
Simple question. A friend suggested acronym DDD TAFGA for use during diversions... Though he didnt tell me what all of it was. I was taught to just do it. Would be cool if there is an easier way though. Any ideas what DDDTAFGA stands for? The best way to start a diversion is to go to the nearest ai...

Re: Decent Flight school in Edmonton?
I've personally been around a few flying schools in edmonton. Here's my two sense. In order and why 1. Edmonton flying club- More of a club feeling. Feels like they are there for the students and not for hours. Often times I come in and everyone is in a great mood, telling jokes, laughing. They make...
