Re: AN-24 VS Dash-8
Expat, these sound like the same pax we have who think a certain local airline has better pilots than we do because they land when reported vis is 400m and approach ban is at 1600m.

Re: CATSA
With the Federal reviews of Catsa going on, why not send your frustrations to Ottawa. One or two might not get far, but if every pilot in the country is complaining about their lack of professionalism, cellphones at the checkpoint, them bypassing the screening after going out for a smoke etc, someth...

"No, it has to do with the fact they can't do RNAV approaches. Some of you guys need to learn to read. "
I stand corrected Doc, thanks. I assumed there would be a LOC BC or even an NDB onto 07, turns out it's just the RNAV.

Re: Sunwing overfly YQG?
I would bet it had something to do with the runway only having a 60' cleared centreline and the rest being 90% 3 inches of snow and nothing to do with vis/cigs. gotta read those RSC's closely

Saw the F/O on the news today saying that they weren't asleep and they weren't arguing, and that there was something else going on, but he wouldn't say what. All he said is that it would come out in the NTSB report.

so as the CAW workers are in-line to get governement handouts(via Mr. taxpayer) to protect their astonomical pensions and benefits, workers in other industries are forced to resort to a form of fraud to make sure his/her family is provided for post-retirement. Can't say I really blame these guys.

How about this novel idea.... STOP paying Oil Rig workers with a grade 10 education as much or more than a family doctor for doing mindless labour!!! Some of these guys are making 120K plus a year from what I'm told. It's driving a false economy in AB, and it's the rest of us that are paying through...

Hedley, what are you using for fuel in that mother? we did alot of testing and internet research, turns out the brown right guard is the best. Has something like 3-4 different hydrocarbons in it, and makes the potats smell gooood.

Better fitting pilot shirts?
I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good brand of shirt that fits a thinner build than Goldstars? I'm using their 16 tall right now, and they fit like a friggin garbage bag through the torso. I'm 6' 0", 190lbs, 32 waist, 44 chest, 16 neck, no gut. Thanks!

In a large jet, on a Cat II ILS, there is a very real possibility that ground contact will be made once a missed approach is initiated (In this case DH is 98' RAD ALT at CYHM) This is because as others have said, the very long spool up time for the engine to produce max thrust, as well as the inerti...

I just love this guy's post... PPL holder is instantly an expert on Transport Category Jets! thatw as perfect. The pilots knew what they're doing, otherwise they wouldn't have put thousands of lives in danger, the plane, and the reputation of the airline as well. They have instruments and warning sy...
