Air Sprint Salary

Just food for thought. I understand they are not considered an airline however they are a player in Canadian aviation who compete for pilots. Air Sprints new pay scales now have them making more money than; WestJet, Flair, Porter ( Air Canada in some regard) Etc. To fly a light jet! I imagine this i...

King Air Training

Good Afternoon, I operate a King Air 100 privately in SK. With regards to aircraft currency, can I do my PCC check ride in a king air 200 sim? What I have read in the cars is that a similar type is required as long as a differences course is incorporated. This is not a type rating and so I'm under t...

Re: Flat pay and unions...

Apparently management is going around to ground schools telling them their number 1 priority is getting rid of flat pay…. Anyone else hear this?

Re: Upgrades

^. All valid comments regarding lifestyle and being ready for an upgrade. The unfortunate part is I think a lot of people try for it when they aren’t ready for the sole reason of avoiding flat pay…. A work life balance is important… but there is neither when taking a 100,000 pay cut to fly at AC. 50...

Upgrades

With everything that has been going on, what are the upgrade times looking like these days? Moving forward in the next few years... Does anyone have rough projections on approx. how many years of service will hold a left seat? Thanks.

Re: King Air SIC time

I guess my question is ; is logging it as dual or sic time legal in transport Canada’s eyes?

If I’m building towards the 1500 atpl does it count towards total time?

The aircraft is operated 2 crew however its licensed as single pilot …

King Air SIC time

Canadian 604 Private Operator. Northern operations. King Air 100. 2 crew operation. ( I believe its for insurance) Auto pilot installed. How is this flight time logged? Can both crewmembers. Only 1? I'm looking at applying for this gig but it doesn't seem to make a lot of sense if I cant log it... D...

Does it make a difference if references were called? Or are you still equally eligible for an offer/PFO and on the same timeline?

I have an in person interview in January. Is it more of the same HR / Situational based questions that were on the phone interview? Any technical aircraft/IFR questions?

Re: Windshear recovery to a landing

Considering the wind shear escape maneaver on the Boeing is too fire wall the thrust and climb out, I would imagine it would be difficult to remain within stable approach criteria after that.. is the Embraer procedure different?

Re: Evertz Microsystems

Its simple. If Evertz operated Jets in Canada, job openings would be few and far between. You are not going to get paid a jet captain wage on a King Air. Its nothing against the work condition or lifestyle at Evertz. Its the nature of the business. Everyone wants to make 150k +/Year. Flying a King A...

Re: Express Pilots VS Mainline Pilots

Sorry "mart", but you're wrong. For most of the pilots I know cash and time off are the primary motivators. If they paid me $1,000,000 a year and a pension to lick stamps 1 week a month I would quit flying in a heartbeat. I mean, I like flying well enough, for a job, but I have other stuff I like a...
