"main base" "sub-base"

My question is you can pretty much operate the same way from the sub-base as you would from a main base.
Trying to find the two different definitions on the TC site.
If a anyone can shed some more light on the difference between the two bases it would be great.

Thanks

Re: Beaver chief pilot / ops manager Day VFR 703 SALARY ?

Slight off topic,
Pilot with 600 hours on cessna 172 LAND , can he/she act as chief pilot representing an operation with an amphibian 172.

Just reading up on the CLASS and CATEGORY on transport.

If anyone has info that would be great.

Thanks

Any good for commercial use on floats.
I've heard the factory shutdown but is there sufficient part support and if anyone has opinions on its performance.

" up to 3 charteres "

Just some clarification,

Charter company that has a caravan available for charter can have up to 3 different individuals or companies charter the caravan.
So the 9 passenger caravan gets divided by 3.

Thoughts?

Great info guys thanks, there are no issues with flying into YTZ as a scheduled or on demand charter.

You're not part of the 202 slots ?

Re: "charter" vs " scheduled charter" difference?

The toronto island airport as I have read and heard has I believe 202 slots for "scheduled air service" (porter, air canada). Can an air service not based at YTZ provide charters whether on demand or scheduled air charter service without violating air regulations? Whether it's once a day, once a week ...

new 2 crew member rule

Does this mean companies like Harbour Air will need 2 up front? What is the minimum passenger rule that this applies to?

turbine single otter vs cessna caravan amphibian

Pros and cons and which one works best in terms of acquiring one and utilizing as a commuter.

Which one would you use if your run was 2 hours or less , comfort, etc.
I'm assuming the otter costs more to operate hourly as well.

Thanks in advance for any opinions and info.

So why all of a sudden are they building these after years of having the old one? Is there pressure from new potential air service providers?

pdw wrote:You sometimes see anything from canoes to the kitchen sink tied to floats in the summer... so you're still mainly worried about the laminar surfaces to do with lift.
So basically no flying amphibian caravans or any amphibian for that matter in a Canadian winter.

Re: Going lease rates

Thanks Phillyfan for the note. so for a million dollar machine (caravan) were looking at $20000 a month and would you pay an hourly fee on top of that to cover the TBO. That's a pretty expensive lease for a caravan. thanks for the update 2% of the aircraft value is a pretty standard industry guideli...

Re: Can this 'charter idea' be legal here in Canada

A lot of these setups are just selling seats on what would otherwise be backhaul or positioning flights. Works like this. Jet is based in point A. Rockstar calls up, and books the plane to go from point B to C on such and such day. Rockstar pays the bill, which is written up as a to b to c in milea...

Re: Going lease rates

My completely overhauled (new engine, prop, avionics, paint, etc) 182 on Aerocet Amphibs and IO-550 leases for $3000/month plus $35/hr. On a 100 hr month that's $6500 or $65/hr. http://www.SeaplaneAdventures.ca What would an amphibian caravan lease for and what are we expect to pay to the lessor? W...
