Re: Worst Rated Flight School

The whole thing seems a bit too staged.

I hope he gave Pedro a good tip!

Re: Carb fire season

Interesting you post this today. The last time I flew the J3, it was fairly cold and didn't get a good enough preheat. I was thinking about carb fires as I used the primer to keep it running... Being in straight skis I had to keep it moving to warm it up. A few laps of the runway before it was smoot...

Tragically another pilot lost their life today. On such a rare type, if there is a problem with the aircraft hopefully the TSB will find it.

Re: Mandatory PCR Test and 3 Day Hotel Quarantine

Covid isn’t a common cold. Give your head a shake. You’re right, it isn’t the common cold. It’s a really bad cold that has done what really bad colds have always done; expedite the departure of those who were already on the verge of death and just making the rest of us miserable for two weeks. COVI...

I'm too old now to start. I couldn't afford to work for starting wages over the next 10 years.

I always regret not becoming a commercial pilot when I was younger, until covid hit.

Re: Can Tourism Operators Survive Another Year of Border Closure?

Even if the border reopens, until the quarantine requirements are also lifted people are not going to travel across. I spent 5 weeks in the US last summer when I was out of work because I had the time when I returned. If I was working there is no way I could have done the trip for any length of time.

Re: Pre-departure COVID-19 testing and negative results to be required for all air travelers coming to Canada

I don't believe they can legally refuse a citizen entry even if covid positive. They can however force a quarantine prior to entry. So if you force the issue and show up perhaps you may not like your quarantine conditions.

Re: Instructor taking control

Fairly early in my training my instructor took control during a landing, which ended up with both of us pulling back on the yoke and just about dragging the tiedown on the runway. He was expecting an earlier flare I guess, and I didn't expect him to grab the controls. I'm sure it was a learning expe...

Band-aid at best.

I could imagine in some places it might be difficult to get test results back within 72 hrs as well.

It's not showing an MF.... :smt040

The day I did my flight test, the radio was so busy/annoying I turned it off. The examiner asked "Can you do that?" My response "Why not, we are in glass G airspace." I passed.

I thought it was fair. I fall into the same category, don't use many of the local services my taxes pay for but should we consider cutting them? I think not.

My favorite part of the video is when the glider is near 90degrees of bank and the pilot pulls full back on the stick.

Another 406 benefit for SAR is the signal identifies the aircraft. The owner can be contacted before sending out a search effort in the case of "false alarms". That is assuming it is registered correctly.
