Re: when does PPL expire
Thanks a ton! Appreciate it. Logging some hours PIC (after the regular checkout with an instructor, based on the flight school requirements) every 4.99 years seems good advice. Not having to rewrite the exams is good news, considering the time and resources necessary. PS On a completely unrelated no...

Re: when does PPL expire
Hi I got my commercial back in 2008, and the last flying I did as PIC was also in 2008. Haven't flown since, and the Cat 1 medical has expired. Going by 421.05 Recency Requirements , I understand that I would need to meet the 5-year rule. With regards to the CPAER, however, would I have to rewrite t...

Re: Do I need to stamp my logbook?
Nightbird, An authorized person is also one who signs out your student permit, which serves as temporary Private/commercial permit (90days) once signed at the back, again by an Authorized person. If you’ve got your student permit, you would be able to find it. Don’t worry too hard about the stamps. ...

Re: Timed Turns
You start the timer just before banking into the turn….and start the roll out of the rated turn at the end of the period designated. Example you’re making a rate one turn for a full 360 degree. Start turn: 00; establish the rate 1. Start roll back at 00, 2 minutes later. So, the few seconds you lose...

Re: C206
Would any one know the current rates per hour (dual) and location for the C206 (land)?
Also, a bit off topic, but does the C210 add a complex aircraft rating to your license?
thanks and would greatly appreciate any replies/Pm's

Re: dash 8 performance charts on atpl
Hey Northbound206, It's a performance chart for a Dash 8 and has to be associated with the questions pertinant to it; particularly since it gives you runway designations of 15 and 33 alongwith runway length and slope for each. The chart basically provide you take-off weight limits(lbs), for runway 1...

Re: Navigation !
- Hi there. Slight error in your Calc... you took the 80NM with the GS calc. Remember total trip distance is 80Nm. Off this 12Nm is in the climb. So actual dist at which the GS of 120Kts is applicable, is 68Nm. Use that, you get 113Lbs remaining. Cheers. Oops...see that already taken care of. :roll...

I keep reading about instructors claiming that students are trying to kill them. Have experienced this myself...and first off, it seems the instructor is just not confident enough himself! Which is indicative that he shouldn't be doing what he's doing at all in the first place! Now I'm not an instr...

sound advice.. Also, if you'll be renting FTU aircrafts after you get your PPL. Don't forget if you're "training" to get a cpl, you don't pay tax... CYYZ, Are u implying that the A/c rentals towards hourbuilding is tax free? Maybe I'm missing a point, what's to prove that I am indeed going for the ...
