Depends on the owners expectations. If it is all about $$, the lower tier management companies may be right. The Nova Jets/ Partnerjets varieties.
There are options in YHM and YKF that may work as well. The companies I normally recommend are Skyservice, Execaire and Chartright and in that order.

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?
Tried the corporate gig now at the airlines. Hands down prefer the airlines. No longer waiting endless hours at FBOs, splitting duty days to make trips work. Grooming airplanes No set schedules, or guaranteed days off. Yes lots of days off but being on-call constantly Running around town prior to f...

Re: Jobs in Quebec for an Anglophone
There are opportunities for anglophones in French Canada. Yes, there are redneck French as well and some will voice their displeasure. That happens in almost any culture. If you can find a job and are open minded and friendly, it will be a great opportunity to learn Canada's second language. At leas...

Re: London Air up for Sale?
Aurora isn't a resounding success as is although there will be a void in the YVR charter market. I wouldn't discount them from making a play of sorts. Just not the current business model. Skyservice/ Chartright etc are not in the business of owning aircraft. I suspect Chartright or Sky may look at ...

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?
I have always aspired to be a corporate pilot but I have a long way to get there. I have started research on a few operators which will eventually help achieve my goal but for now I enjoy circling at mins and landing on gravel strips. If any of you gurus have any advice of where to begin or tips in...

Re: London Air up for Sale?
With their charter rates and a continuously renewed fleet, it can't be a money making venture, merely a tax advantage to the parent company. There is value in the aircraft, the hangar and the 704, just not in the combination of all.

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?
I am sorry x15, but you are deluded if you even believe half of what you just posted. We all make choices for our own reasons and the smart choices are made for your own benefit not because you don't care for the strut or hairstyle of the other guys doing what suits them. That thought process echoes...

Re: Canadian pilot pay
Most 604 operators protect that information where possible. Towers Perrin did surveys but you had to be a participant to receive the reports. When they started, they included management companies. I asked they remove them as corporate and management are two different beasts. The race to the bottom m...

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?
Chartright, like all management companies are only as good as their current management. Under Rependa, Chartright was born and became a respectable company, under Nigel Argent, it was a disaster, under current management, it is reasonably well run operationally and better run as a business. Manageme...

Re: Do people aspire to be corporate pilots?
Does anyone actually dream of becoming a corporate pilot, or is it something people tend to do when they dont make it into an airline? Discuss... Corporate pilots say yes, airline pilots say no. It's the age old I am better than you argument people have been playing since childhood. There is more t...

I have a question for you corporate guys, How does training work? I assume most companies send you to FS or similar but is it one on one or do they fill a class and you just have to hope your not paired up with Joe Blow from Mexico in the sim? Would make SOP's sort of tough, no? Yes, could make it ...

Re: appreciate constructive tips to secure first f/o jet pos
I am not an airline Captain, I am a 35 year corporate manager who has seen a lot of good people shot down by the antics of others. There was a time that I promoted Corporate over Airline but time in the industry has changed that. All segments of aviation are in the race to the bottom but particularl...

Re: appreciate constructive tips to secure first f/o jet pos
A stumbling block may be in convincing an employer that you will be happy in an entry level position and pay scale given your experience and age. The management companies will hold you in that position through the use of training bonds, not job satisfaction. They will be your best bet for getting a ...

Re: Airline Career Outlook
There are few, stable lifetime jobs in Canada outside of the airlines. Many corporate guys have 5 or 6 micro-careers as their paychecks are at the whims of the CEO du jour. There are rare exceptions but even the old flight departments are showing stress cracks and the trends are to management compan...

The good corporate gigs pay very well too... $100K to over $200K. With 100 being a good F.O. salary. My last position paid 170k base salary with a target annual bonus of 37%, stock options and restricted share units providing a total compensation package north of 300k. The company F.O's were all no...
