That would be the short version..
Of course the accident report had to have some subtlety to it.
She was flat out roaring around.
Maybe adding some flap for that final turn would have saved her ass.

You should work for the ATSB. Can you explain the cut and dried part?

Rottnest Island Cessna Caravan Seaplane Crash

Watching the take-off video makes me cringe.

This should be used in all floatplane training seminars going forward.

Pretty cut and dried as to what happened.

Re: Jet stream down

His obituary is out. His family will have their reasons for not releasing it. It will be out shortly. I'm sure many know the reason and have had the good judgment to not start tongues wagging before anyone actually knows what happened. Be one of those people. Is there a link to the obituary? There ...

Re: RCMP crash

I am hearing that it was the Yellowknife based PC-12. Only the pilot on board and she is ok. As to what happened - not much is being said. Sounds like maybe a departure, some sort of failure, and a return to landing that went wrong. The aircraft is destroyed, ended up on its back with the wings and ...

Re: When is my next medical due? Turning 60.

You might want to consider doing a medical a bit early (whilst you are still 59) to get a last 12 month validity date. Whether that is worth it or not depends on when your birthday is. Also if you are not using your licence during the off season that might be a waste of time and money. I know what ...

Re: When is my next medical due? Turning 60.

It's the classical debate between "the validity period is determined by the age of te holder at the time of the medical" vs "the validity period is determined by the age of the holder at the time of the flight". Yes that is the exact reason I was asking. I have been told, by other pilots, I am good...
