A construction sideline is always good. I had done drywall and painting. It seems that there's usually always someone looking for another pair of hands even if you're not all that skilled because many are willing to train if you're willing to work.

Although I am no longer there, some of the finest people I have ever known in the industry wore CanJet wings. It's a real pity see it all end so unceremoniously.

Some people are just chronically stupid, irresponsible and phenomenally short-sighted. They're the same folks who rubberneck at an accident site hampering the ambulance and fire fighters from getting to the accident.

I got an offer for seasonal. I'm a 10K hour guy with 4.5K hours on 73B's and 73C's working overseas as a TFW in somebody else's country looking to come home to roost. It does happen.

I got the Beech 18. Ironically, I have a few hours from my first flying job a long time ago back when dinosaurs roamed the earth. I found it a handful then, but without an FMC, flight directors, autopilot, auto throttle, auto land etc... I'd probably find it a handful today too.

I heard this was coming down the pipe for years now. I checked the TC website CARs and didn't see it changed yet. I know they do a pretty good job keeping the CARs up to date. Do you have any hard proof in-hand of this? I for one would welcome it.

Same here. I refer to my days off as heading out to a "real" airport to fly a "real" airplane. GA never lost it's appeal for me.

Aerovee in a Luscombe 8a

I was thinking of replacing my tired old Continental A65 for something with a few more horses and some of them new-fangled electric luxuries like a starter. One of the options I am considering is the Aerovee engine.

Has anyone done this before? Any regrets?

When did the LOC\BC for 32 disappear? It is now just an RNAV, but the BC signals can still be read. Was it a cost cutting thing or a certification thing? It's a lot more convenient for the guys who can do RNAV, however for the little guys without the equipment, it limits 32 for those not-so-nice VFR...
