Re: Air Canada Pool
With so many openings, how can the Training Dept. be only running one course per month for the next year and interviewing being on hold? I've heard that the Training Dept. is really backed up, but surely this problem is only going to compound? Anybody out there waiting for an interview getting any e...

Re: First few years pay
Is it true that overtime is paid at the flat hourly rate while under flat pay or is it 1.5 times higher after 85 hours? My buddy in his first year says he doesn't get time-and-a-half for overtime, but I'm skeptical because I've heard otherwise.

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool
That's why when the doo doo hits the fan with automation, crews are thundering in at places like San Francisco because the basic skills of flying hands and feet and navigation are becoming less and less proficient. Does Canada want to follow that track? Just food for thought. He inadvertently disen...

Re: WestJet Mainline/Encore Hiring pool
[It seems like AC and WJ are moving closer to cadets. They're not hiring 0 experience guys yet but they're taking younger and lesser experienced people and feeding them through the regionals. If this works out for them I could see them trying out cadets. The rest of the world is doing it after all....

They are expecting the flow through to AC to be fast and furious and hiring at Jazz will follow suit. How many folks typically on each ground school ...

Re: Encore Captain Upgrades
[quoteHi there guys and gals, Just curious, how long is it taking currently to get into the L/H seat at Encore? Cheers gkdash ][/quote] Depends where you fall in the matrix. If you're arriving with no DH8 time you'll need the 500 hours on type. At the moment that is probably taking anywhere 9-12 mon...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
for 1 year thats $34,560 starting pay. Yup! And don't forget, Jazz is dangling the mainline carrot now, just like WJ did a year-ish ago. And there's also profit sharing now! So it's all going the same way. It's all exactly the same as what everyone agreed to, when Encore started and is currently do...

Re: New CPA and flowthrough to Air Canada?
Can anyone from Jazz confirm whether or not the restriction is still in place of waiting two years before applying at AC after signing with Jazz?
