Re: YWG in-person interviews

So you interviewed in person twice and passed the interview then waiting for 18 month each time to not get in? Yup, 1st time took 1 year to get to the in person interview from initial application. passed the interview. stayed in the pool for 18 months, got dropped and had to restart. 2nd time passe...

Re: YWG in-person interviews

Good luck !!

I timed out of the YWG IFR candidate pool twice now. Stayed in the candidate pool for 18 months after passing the in-person interview.

I am in the process of trying for a 3rd and final time.

Re: How long did any of you current controllers/trainees take to get your offer

Well, for myself, For YWG area, I have timed out of the IFR pool once already. I’m about to time out a second time from the IFR candidate pool again. I guess I will try 1 more time if I do time out again. I’m really interested in this but after over 4 years of trying to get in, Getting to the IFR ca...

Re: Application Process Samples

from what I have been told,

the referred person still has to do tests and an in-person interview if they do well on the tests. Once they hit the final candidate pool, there is no more 'bonus' to being a referral candidate.

Re: Differences between the referral process and normal application process

Good to know, Looks like I will be timing out of the IFR pool and was wondering If I should be restarting through the normal process or have someone I know who is a current ATC to refer me through the new referral process. Is the testing similar to the in-person tests? What about this simulation? An...

Differences between the referral process and normal application process

What are the differences between the referral process and normal application process?

Are the tests different? are certain steps skipped?

You can just PM me if you want.

thanks

Re: Assessment session - algebra

Yeah,

I think its possible to answer most of the tests, If I remember correctly, i was able to answer all the questions except for the audio section and ran 2 or 3 short in one of the objects test.

The easiest one for me was the W-sim, I had time to do a complete review of that entire section.

Re: NavCanada Application

It really depends,

For me, initial application to getting streamed IFR took me only 4 months. And now I have been waiting for a course offer for 13 months.

5 more months and I will have to re-apply.

Re: Take Charge site glitch - candidate photo

I'm in the same boat as rspencer38 but I'm in YWG.

Just hit my 12 month mark in the IFR pool.

They also have another assessment for the YWG area on July 12th. I just hope I don't have to wait another 6 months only to have to re-apply all over again.

That's life though.

Re: Training Changes....

Nice,

That must be recent then,

When I applied and during my in-person interview they were really making sure that I knew and was prepared for $4k~ tuition and being unpaid for 9 to 14 months.

Seems like that makes it a lot easier for applicants.

Re: Training Changes....

I know how you feel, I got into the IFR pool last June, and im just waiting with no idea where and if I might get a call. I wish they could somehow expand on that, being in the pool and just waiting is getting long, especially those that time out. Its hard to plan the next year of your life with lit...

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?

I don't think you're officially gauged against other people are you? My understanding was that as long as you get a certain score that is over their cut-off for each step, you move on. If you "pass" your second interview, then you're in the candidate pool. Only at that time when you're in the candi...

TheSteamingPile,

The other user deleted his post, he was not talking about your post from June 16th.

I was also confused when the other poster posted as it did not make any sense to the thread in question.

Re: NavCan Second round interview question?

Nav canada is a lot more than just the 3 streams. They are involved in many other projects such as radars systems over the sea, terrain mapping, ect... A quick google search with have more details on this. As for the interview itself, take a look at this link, https://www.reddit.com/r/ATC/comments/3...

Re: Assesment Session: outside FIR?

When I did my assessment for the YWG FIR, they had asked 2 people from the Gander area to join, They did say that you stay in the FIR you do your assessment in. If you are waiting for an assessment, you can call the recruitment center to see if you can take your assessment in another FIR, but if you...

Re: Online assessment test

yeah, The best bet would be to call the recruitment centre and see if they will divulge any information. You might have been nabbed on the personality questionnaire. There are many questions that are asked that are near duplicates of each other but are just worded differently. Thus if your answers d...

Hey, Fellow YWG'er here. By the sounds of it, you were in the May session? I was in the march session and had my second interview in mid May. But I have also heard that some people in my session still havent had their 2nd interview either. From what I recall, there was a IFR course in June and a VFR...
