So one less plane in YYZ...that will reduce the number of pilots needed in that base.
Thats seriously what you got from this?

It'll be replaced if it is indeed written off. Maybe even by a Q.

Re: Encore contract negotiations

Thats pretty decent actually. I've had two instances where I've been called RIGHT before the end of my call out period and flown to the 20hr max from the start of the callout period (although well inside a 14hr duty day). 16 would be much more civil.

Re: Montair Aviation

Way back when..

I was just a lowly student at Montair in the very very early 2000's (i.e.; 9/11) and they were operating a couple of PC-12's from the south terminal. And at one point a king air 100 and 90.

Who is running the show now? I'm guessing Big A is long since retired?

Re: ATPL flight hours tax question

Can't do it for an ATPL. Solely for an accredited school for the CPL. I got flagged and then audited for trying to write off an ATPL exam prep seminar way back when and then denied.

It also won't pass for an employment expense. There is very little we can use in aviation in terms of write offs.

Re: YYC base destinations

YYC has all three fleet types presently. YVR is now the only base that doesn't have each fleet type. Although this seems to constantly change. In the initial ground school, they will have a pre determined list of aircraft/bases for you to essentially draw straws and bid on, on day two. You kind of g...

I was involved in an accident. I'm honest, open and up front about it. I've now been flying for 17 years and am at an airline. It really is a non issue, so long as you're open about it.

Are those just the posted numbers? I have not seen them anywhere myself.

Quite a few are only going to 60. As thats what they had signed up for when they started.

Re: Hanging your hat at Jazz?

28% (those that are post 2015 hires who plan to stick around) voted No. That is over 400 pilots! Sadly, there were about 600 that were new and wanted AC desperately and another 500 or so on the old scale that this would carry them straight through into retirement. Beautifully played by CHR and AC. I...

GGN management are trying to manipulate their employee group one last time by telling them that they won't release them to jazz til the fall.

Laughable.

So far, I haven't seen any impact on the operation at Jazz, other than some extra sectors here and there.

Theres a reason Jazz management is running around to any college that will talk to them and trying to start a 'pathways' program and encourage the grads to come right to Jazz. Sadly, enrolment at most of the colleges for the pilot programs has dropped significantly. Someone else said it best. 100k a...

i noted 116 YVR DH4 captains awarded. The minimum is 84 and I believe they're holding a baseline of 100. Sounds like they expect quite a bit of attrition. Supposed another 330 to go to AC this year.. I also noticed that they seem to have quite a few folk who have set their retirement dates training ...
