Re: Let The Massive Hiring Begin!!!! FINALLY
I believe SkyReg starts at 49000$ last I checked for FO. It's a Farcry from what it was back in 2012 when they started. I believe it was in the low 30s. It was changed a couple of years ago. Now this is base pay. Every time you fly you get a certain amount per hour. And per diems. So in the end it'...

Re: Jazz
I know guys who have made it it with less that 1500. It's crazy to think that'd they'd look as low as 1000 hours. Try 250 hrs with the college kids. Lots of them have been hired. I heard one saying he's going left seat in 2 years when he gets 1500TT  Thats really funny actually lol. But seriou...

Re: Jazz
It cracks me up sometimes when I read posts on this forum from people who don't understand the hiring practices at regional airlines. Regionals like Jazz hire 1500 hrs because they prefer to. 5000 hr pilots sometimes come with baggage that 1500 hr pilots don't. Jazz wants pilots who; - Will work for...

Re: Orca ad
Bag runs are split duty days. Most average 8-12 hours of actual duty time, with several hours off in the middle of the day for rest.

Re: Orca ad
So its still another 703 company that most people leave after they get 2000 hrs? That's a shame, flying a Beach 99 from Vancouver into places like Tofino could be a sweet gig under the right conditions.

Re: Air Georgian
This is just hilarious. Still waiting for the big reveal as to who's playing a game here. (PS Can we please change the name of this thread to "Guess! That! Troll!" It would be quite easy actually. Anyone with admin powers can find the IP that was used when the account was made. 1, they could see if...

Re: Air Georgian
I fairly certain the airlines aren't looking on "hire me". That is incredibly naive of you. If you have been experiencing difficulty finding a job up to this point, I can guarantee you just blacklisted yourself everywhere else. Why? 1. You are entitled. I'm sure I'm well qualified for that position...

Re: Fast Air
good to see a company spending some money upgrading a fleet Yes! doing some of the toughest flying out there Not even close! It is good to see a company that invests in their equipment, I would rather fly with a 430/530 and an extra 10k in my pocket though.... I'm curious as to the pay, I'd like to...

Re: Perimeter Sanny accident report
As a low time private here -- hence my handle -- circling approaches scare me. At night? Ugggggggg. Just did my first one actually -- during the day. Prepped for minimums -- per the metar - but comfortably above. Anticlimactic, An LNAV, and I had a first class alternate 20 min away, tons of fuel. N...

Re: Perimeter Sanny accident report
I also find it shocking that the lack of a straight in approach to both runways was not even included as a risk factor in this report. They must secretly admit that this is a risk factor if an rnav approach appeared there soon after the accident. I remember about a month after the keystone accident...

Re: Perimeter Sanny accident report
As for the granny gas.... You'll notice the AC took off at 15993 lbs (max 16000) on PAPER + 200 lbs granny gas. And the only comment the NTSB had about it was adding extra fuel "may invalidate the C of A". The NTSB did NOT suggest to TC that the "well known practice within the company" of adding gra...

I've met people who've moved into aviation after careers in other professions and be happy as clams. And I've met people who've left aviation for a real job and be as happy as a clam!
Different strokes for different folks.

Re: Asia getting desperate!
"Asia getting desperate" - Yeah right! Once they start taking 1500 hrs and an ATPL with NO type rating, then we know they're desperate. I havn't seen any job overseas from IASCO Global that doesn't require time on type, a type rating or time on a heavy jet. Yet i've seen AC, WJ and Sunwing take 703 ...

In an indentured servitude relationship, the master has a responsibility to take care of the indentured servant in exchange for services performed. This is a job. If the salary offered doesn't pay your food, shelter, flight school bills, ect - tough sh*t - find another job. An indentured relationshi...

Re: Safety and newbies
Left said company I didn't feel safe working for anymore, more than 2 years ago. I saw the pressure I would have had as captain if I had stayed and it wasn't worth it. Flew an airplane he didn't fly for a while and we were able to control safety a bit more. If I was flying in his airplane he questi...
