Re: RCMP drives drunk, flips car

I had a very long reply typed up but even I couldn't reread my own post, it was that long and boring. How can you say I should provide the numbers? You are the one saying there is a problem, prove it. If you are willing to throw out an accusation like that back it up. Oh, but you're not an investiga...

Re: RCMP shoots man; court rules cops f**ked up

For one, I'm a police officer and well trained in use of force. Police do not release details of an ongoing investigation because it is just that, an ongoing investigation. Often, by the time the investigation is done and all is finished the media has moved on, the drama is gone. Details are not giv...

Re: RCMP drives drunk, flips car

BoostedNihilist, how many instances are there actually in relation to the number of police and support staff? Out of, I'm guessing, close to 100,000 police officers and more support staff across Canada how many have been charged or found to have acted inappropriately? If you have numbers I'd like to...

Re: RCMP shoots man; court rules cops f**ked up

They also consider 50,000 volt death-inducing tasers in the same class as batons and pepper spray, so forgive me if I don't pay much attention to how they classify weapons. They classify them according to their own double-standards, when it suits them to do so. You just showed how little you actual...

Maybe she should, along with the 1000's of other people of various ethnic groups in Montreal not have broken a law and all this would have been avoided.

Re: RCMP shoots man; court rules cops f**ked up

cpl_atc... your arguments would carry a lot more weight if you didn't resort to name calling, ie "the ignorant cop". I've also read many responses of yours putting down people who voice a different opinion rather than actually debating them or making a rational argument. You're responses often come ...

Re: Remember your rights vs. cops

Searches of a person arrested or detained are for safety. Concealed weapons, needles, etc.. have to be found. Police officers and detained/arrested people have been injured or killed because of faulty or non-existent searches. Section B(8) of this link does a decent job of explaining it. http://dsp-...

Re: Outrageous

You're right, I do serve the public. I will put myself in harms way to serve them, and have. Just as I must be accountable to the public, I expect the public to listen to the reasons and try to understand why I do what I do. I don't expect everyone to agree, but I also don't expect to be labelled a...

Re: Outrageous

There was no escalation of force. They merely walked in, surrounded him, and tasered him. He never had a chance. The cops were the ones who escalated the situation, not him. Police do not go into a situation when they know the person is being violent, and the man in YVR was, and start at the bottom...

Can I just ask, how many of the pilots, mechanics, air traffic controllers, etc.. are trained in use of force? How many after maybe reading about it have applied it to a real life situation? How many were present during this event and didn't just make up their minds by what they saw on the news? How...

Re: And you wonder why people don't trust the justice system?!?

If my post came across as saying that the officer got off too easily or that the justice system is totally wrong, I did not mean it that way. The point I was trying to get across is that he didn't get off just because he is a cop. There are cases thrown out daily for technicalities that exist becaus...
