Re: IATRA questions

Has anyone written the IATRA recently and can anyone tell me if these questions are still on today's test's? I have been studying the . ATPL and Aerocourse ATPL and reffering to the TC IATRA study guide, but as always, can use any insight. Thanks!

Re: 2016 Ramp Wait Times?

I'm currently flying for CMA. My wait time was 3 years. The current wait time is between 2-3.5 years... For anyone getting into the industry I would recommend going up North, or getting a surveying job (Ops Mobil etc) . Most of my friends who were on the ramp when I was, quit and came back later as...

His source is impeccable"... His second cousin's pen pal knew a guy who lived across the street from a guy who worked there... Cant beat that. : :smt040 Btw..I feel for you young guys who take all that training and then set your sights on working on the ramp...A dreadful situation when companies ta...

Re: 2016 Ramp Wait Times?

Stay far, far away from CMA and NCA. The ramp wait there is non existant anymore with the downturn in the economy. You will turn over in your own grave before going flightline. Sad, but it's true.

Re: Perimeter aviation vs transwest air? Help

You can go get yourself into a Navajo right seat or be a diver driver etc. There's flying jobs out there for 200hr pilots you just have to go find them. A year ago I did just this. After six weeks found myself a right seat Ho job with a great company, and a year later I'm Captain and have over 1000...

Re: Perimeter aviation vs transwest air? Help

Please, reconsider this. Latest news is Perimeter's wait is 2-3 years now. Transwest is well, Transwest. Do yourself a favor and do some more homework before going through with either. Good luck.

Re: Can anyone else on here relate? Ear Troubles

Yea I'm gonna cut out all booz for a while. I've been taking antihistamines, nasal steroids sprays, and antibiotics, and I don't smoke so that's a plus. The problem is, I can do the valsava or the other mentioned techniques above, but my ears will close up shortly after again, within like literally ...

Can anyone else on here relate? Ear Troubles

So a few years ago I started having troubles with my Ears on descent. My ears aren't pressurizing normally and I physically have to do the "Valsava maneuver" a bunch of times on descent to constantly equalize the pressure. When I started flight training, all the way through my PPL and night rating I...

Re: Low Timer Jobs in NWO/Manitoba

Hello! I am considering doing a road trip from Eastern Ontario up to NWO and Manitoba in the near future and am interested in the current low timer (CPL/MIFR/IATRA and 300 hours) opportunities in these areas. I would be looking for ramp/dispatch work leading to a flying position later on . Are ther...

The whole "Pilot in wait" programs are ruthless. You get no where fast. Don't be another # on that list. Trust me. Go somewhere else where you get in a plane right away etc. Oh, and get your MULTI IFR

Re: Multi IFR Rating Expiration

No INRAT rewrite anymore.

You will have to do a check out flight in a sim with an IPC/ACP. I did it a few months back, no big deal. Awaiting the new sticker that doesn't have an expiry on it.

Re: Bose A20 Headset Repair

Just wanted to give an awesome review of the Bose repair shop in Brant Aero for the work they did on my headset. Not only did they fix the main issue with the noise cancelling, but they did a bunch of extra stuff that I didn't mention to them or expect to have fixed - all still under warranty. They ...

Re: Resume Building

I have completed the ATPL exams but haven't seen a difference in the responses received. Another hurdle is that I have low multi time and operational experience. Should I be seeking out dispatch/ramp positions ? How can I be competitive with all of the people recently laid off that have type rating...

Re: I'm Doing Resumes Again

xsbank helped me boosting my resume at the beginning of the year. Shortly after I got a call for an interview with a major airline with considerably low hours and ended up getting the job. Definitely wouldn't have gotten the call if my resume wouldn't have been sticking out over the hundreds and th...

Re: Bose A20 Headset Repair

You can just go to a Bose store and have them replaced for... free. Yup, I've never had any issues with this either. My argument has always been that I need it for work, and waiting 3 weeks for repair simply isn't acceptable. I actually had 2 defective replacements, both of which were replaced with...

Bose A20 Headset Repair

Hey guys and gals, I have had the A20's for about 4 years now and recently started noticing a little static/vibration in my headsets when flying and the noise cancelling + volume is turned up a bit. Very noticeable when listening to music and sounds like there's a loose connection/wiring. Anyway, I ...

Ya heard a lot more folks got laid off. Wonder what's going to happen to the company? Rumor is floating around that they are getting rid of the newly acquired Q4's too.
